Who is your favorite BLACKPINK member and why?

  • Who is your favorite BLACKPINK member? 63

    1. Lisa (23) 37%
    2. Jennie (15) 24%
    3. Rosé (14) 22%
    4. Jisoo (11) 17%

I'm collecting more data for future inquiries :pepe-notes:

  • Lisa was the one to get me into BP and kpop in general and in my 3 years with the group, her being my ult bias hasn't really changed. Jennie is a close second a lot of the time lol, but honestly it depends. Some days Rosie is wrecking me, or Jisoo is, and then I just come back to Jenlisa and then yeahhh the cycle just starts 😂 I just love them all!

Lately though, it's Jisoo that's been bias wrecking me. At the Osaka concert, when I saw a clip of her being inserted during her part in DKWTD, I legit got emotional at how much I missed her. And it was only ONE CONCERT without her and I wasn't even there.

  • Jisoo. It was Jennie when I first discovered the group and I actually didn't notice Jisoo much. But when I started watching variety content and such I really started to love Jisoo because of her personality and she has been my ult bias since. But Jennie will always be one of my favorite idols since it was because of her that I discovered kpop when I found Solo on the Global Top 50, and she bad af.

  • Lisa. She caught my attention with bbhmm dance cover and then Boombayah/Whistle happened and ever since then she is my bias. She represents BP so much to me with her performances and talent!

  • This is a really tough one because I love them all, but for different reasons. They all have their distinct strengths.

I'll say this. In terms of getting my attention, it was this order for me when I first got into them:

    Jennie

    Jisoo

    Lisa

    Rosé

    Now it's all balanced out.

Jennie was the one I paid most attention to at first. Iconic. I shouldn't have to explain it much.

Jisoo shined with her personality. I watched Blackpink House and other variety shows where the members made an appearance. She was great. She fits the idol image in the classical sense.

I began to appreciate Lisa for her duality. Amazing performer. Badass and cool onstage, but cute offstage. Remember that fansign event when she wore this bunny ear hat? Iconic in its own way. She also put Southeast Asians on the map, so that's a bonus.

Rosé really fine-tuned into her current singer-songwriter, artistic image, which I like. I feel like she made a lot of improvement over the years in discovering and owning her identity.

  • Lisa, she pulled me into Kpop, as soon as I saw her rap in Boombaya and the way she moved and had screen presence plus the song Boombaya itself, I just wanted to know more about her and then I lovetd the other 2 songs and watched their shows n waited for next comeback... She had me at the get go.

Other 3 members have been bias wreckers in different peaks and at different levels, they have always fluctuated but I think Jennie has more consistently remained in that position. I usually lean towards rappers so Rosé and Jisoo bias wrecking should also say a lot.

Honestly something about BP girls I just don't see in others of kpop (except for a few BTS members). Their group dynamics and the way they play off each other also makes their group that much stronger...

  • Lisa. I feel she really loves what she does and never gives anything but her full effort. We probably will never REALLY know what celebrities are like but every interaction I've seen between her and other people suggests that she's kind, sweet & positive. I also feel saddened that despite being unproblematic, staying in her lane and doing her best, she gets constantly attacked for doing nothing wrong. In the end, I feel her actions speak louder than words. Everyone was saying she's a non-musician and would probably retire/become a dance teacher after Blackpink, and yet she's proven them all wrong by becoming the most active member (by far), but musically and in other areas.

  • It was Rosè for her vocal colour and dancing style. She always stood out to me but now I don't know. I didn't like her solos maybe I'll love her next releases?!

  • I voted for Rosé. She's always been my favorite. I was shocked to see she had so few votes (1), but now her fans are showing up.

Lisa is making a powerful push for the top spot this year, but Rosé is still numero uno and I'm anticipating her next album drop

  • Her voice is gratingly bad. Why would you think this won’t play a role in people not liking her.

Did I say, she's like Taeyeon? No. But compared to the rest, she's way above them. I mean, WAY ABOVE! She carried the whole Blackpink alone for 8 years, and without her, we would laugh at them like we did with Le Sserafim or ILLIT. Let's be real, she's the only member who actually looks like who wants to be better, and release real music, not just Tiktok songs.

We don't love IU, because she's the best vocalist. She's average as well, but if we only look at the technique, Rose is not far behind IU.

Lisa is no singer, I wouldn't say she's a real rapper, just like Jennie, because they didn't write a single line, and Jennie is a below-average vocalist as well. The biggest potential in BP is Jisoo, but I can't see her doing vocal training for at least 2 years to be better. She's a model/actress who's gonna release 1 or 2 songs every 2 year, MAYBE!

Lisa is already a Tiktok "musician" with this lame monthly Single thing, and I'm not sure about Jennie, let's see if she's gonna do the same or actually release an EP or a Full-Album with different type of songs. Jennie has massive potential, especially as a rapper, but I can't take anyone seriously who's not writing their own parts.

  • We don't love IU, because she's the best vocalist. She's average as well, but if we only look at the technique, Rose is not far behind IU

You, not We - you sure love harping on IU as an average vocalist.

But let me exclude myself from your "We".

I love IU and other expert opinions which consider her a fantastic vocalist in technique.

Just that she is more than just the vocals, similar to she being more than just the visual.

IU has defined a new quality of IU-ness that attributes typically used to describe other idols, feel average to describe her.

  • Are you incapable of reading or something? Please read what I said

Her voice sounds “unique” which can be polarizing. It has nothing to do with skills.

  • Lisa...

I've seen a couple of their Live Concert Performances, she's the only member that is consistently engaging with the crowd when she's not at Centre. Some of the other members tend to lose interest when they are out of the "spot light".

While our personalities probably clash, I can't help but respect a person that is producing on-stage results because she's probably working her ass off in the background to get those performances.

  • I won't waste my time again on someone who still don't understand what "AVERAGE VOCALIST" means!

I love IU since she debuted, but that doesn't mean I will say she's the best vocalist ever. I said this to you, MULTIPLE TIMES, you can read analysis from vocal coaches about IU, and why she's average!

She excels in what SHE CAN DO, but that doesn't mean she could sing like Taeyeon or Wendy, for example. That's why she's average, and not above average or a competent vocalist or an amazing vocalist.

You can exclude yourself, I don't care, but the fact is still a fact!

You're just another deluded fan who only accept positive opinions, and think fans should praise their faves all the time, and they can't criticize them.

I will show you this the last time, read it, and stop talking about things you don't understand!

BTW, go ask her why she said, she's not gonna sing "GOOD DAY" anymore. She did that part so many times, it almost ruined her vocal cords.

    IU’s Vocal Analysis

    IU’s Vocal Analysis-[IMG=DME]
[BC]Vocal Range

[C]C#3 ~ C6 (2 Octaves, 5 notes & 1 semitone)

[BC]Supported Range

[C]A3/Bb3

  • Well we have already wasted enough time

The fact is you are an "average Uaena" and a worse reasoner

I have no problem with the fact that IU has a lesser vocal range compared to few others in Kpop. But that doesn't not make her or anyone average. What one does with the capacity makes them great, not the capacity itself.

Last time you ranted, you refused to accept that there is a biological factor to vocal ranges

    Then check this analysis

The Vocal Ranges of the Greatest Singers
From Mariah Carey's ear-piercing whistle to Barry White's deep bassy growl, compare the vocal ranges of today's top artists with the greatest of all time.
    www.concerthotels.com

And figure out why if sorted by highest/lowest range, why the extremes are dominated by either gender.

If this is how you "love", being loved by you, must really suck for your family.

    - In the bed, "oh I love you, but based on your boob/dick size, you are average lover"

    - to the kid, "you won the MVP in basketball, but based on your height, you are an average player"

    - "so what if you won flyweight boxing, only heavyweight matters and you are an average boxer"

    Etc.

Since "debut"?, then you must have been the person who shouted "average singer" at her debut.

    What a tall tale.

    Average Uaena.

  • You wanna lecture me, while you call me "Average UAENA", when I'm a REAL fan for 16 YEARS now, I loved her when people didn't even know who she was, and called her "PIG" on a LIVE SHOW!

    So, stop talking shit!

Go back to school, and learn what "AVERAGE" means! It's not just about "vocal range", singing has MANY sides, you dummy!

Again, read the analysis. It's not mine, it was written by an actual vocal coach. They had to make their website private, because of fans like you who can't understand simple words. People like you, don't read the whole analysis, they only read the last sentence when he said: "IU is average".

You know what's the problem? The fact that you think, a real fan is who always give 10/10 for their faves! We call those people blindfolded idiots without any real opinion.

IU is a Legendary singer, a REAL ARTIST, BUT that doesn't mean, she's a good vocalist!

If you can't understand simple things, don't waste my time.

Answer only, if you finally learned what "average" means!

    Peace!

  • We are merely rehashing the last discussion

Words are dependent on context. In Kpop to call anyone average at anything is a shade. You are obtuse to ignore that. And futile to call yourself a fan when indulging in the shade.

You analysis links are pointless, for every such link there are other links with different opinions

Anyway if "average" is not a shade, then you should be ok to be called an "Average fan"

And what is with using "we" .. to use that you must either be a 'royalty' or a 'nut case'.. you don't represent any group. You are merely you and that too an 'average' person at that.

Edited once, last by bbgc ().

  • I will say this ONE LAST TIME! I don't give a flying f-ck what other people do!

Being AVERAGE is NOT a bad thing, or a shade! If I want to shade someone, I don't use words like "AVERAGE", I will say: "They are CRAP" simple as that!

So leave your bubble and stop dreaming, also don't put words in my mouth. If you can't understand what I'm saying, at least ask me to clarify, and don't act like I'm hating on IU when she's literally my biggest fave after BoA!

Also, you can't say a PROFESSIONAL analysis is pointless, because it's just another opinion! No, it's not an opinion, because it's a fact, the review isn't about who they prefer more, it's 100% about what IU can do a vocalist, and that's not an opinion!

Saying IU is an AVERAGE VOCALIST and saying I'm an AVERAGE UAENA is NOT the same thing.

When I said "WE", I was talking about the fans whom are not blindfolded idiots, and can understand that IU isn't the best vocalist ever.

Again, if you can't understand simple words, stop wasting my time! It's boring to say the thing over and over again.

If you disagree with me and other vocal coaches, good for you, but stop talking to me.

One last thing, because you clearly don't know much about Kpop either!

Calling someone average in Kpop is actually a compliment, because 90% of the Kpop singers, especially in the mainstream side of Kpop are below-average or worse!

  • I won't bother to read.. yet another rant typed with CAPITAL letters, acting all superior.

You keep writing "LAST TIME", but can't keep your peace at all and not just in this thread. I notice your interaction with other are similarly confrontational, loud, abrasive with a know-it-all attitude.

That is another reason why you are not a good UAENA, but an AVERAGE UAENA.

    Do better. Bye.

  • They're all great but Jennie Kim is something else
