NGL these kind of interviews really add fuel to renewal rumours. She obviously feels more freedom to talk about the so called "dark side of Kpop". It can only have two possible explanations: 1) YG literally bend the knee and allowed her everything just for signature 2) She is determined to leave. Both are equally possible, given YG's financial situation, they might've agreed to BP all the freedoms they want.

Jennie has made it clear since 2020 that the physicality of idol life is not for her. I think in her heart she wanted to be an American solo star, like a Beyonce, Rihanna, Ariana, etc. Less focus on intense group choreo, more focus on just singing. Unfortunately, that is practically impossible in Korea, every single famous enduring Korean female soloist has come from Kpop. IU is the only exception to the rule it seems like.

ETA: Also age could be a factor here. People forget that BP were actually quite old for a rookie GG in 2016. Jisoo was 21, Jennie 20, Lisa and Rose were 19. If Jennie had started at 14-17 like a lot of these current groups, she would only be 21-24 now instead of 27. It may not seem like a lot, but there is a noticeable difference in physical stamina, at least there was for me. I was indestructible from 16-22 but my body actually started getting noticeably less indestructible by the time i hit 23-24 .

those clips have been used over and over though even one when she was actually sick and had to leave the stage

being clumsy =/= being lazy. Two different things I prefer they call out mistakes ( there weren't many either) but calling her lazy. yes she might have gone out of beat in some part of a choreo but she still is a good performer the ones that have seen her live can vouch for that

they didn't debut older it's was the perfect age just because groups now are debuting younger doesn't mean that's the standard. it's actually something kpop fans are complaining about

Honestly if you hadn't already, just go listen to the podcast. It's like a self-reflection of an artist/entertainer regarding their journey in the industry. Actors and Actresses always do it when they did interviews; "I did this role, I was a part of this, I wish I did this more" and etc. It is very similar. It's good to actually hear the other side, instead of reading an article where someone can 'summarize' or 'interpret' words.
