[Part-2] Stray Kids - In Life Album Review

Let's start from where we left from....

7. Wow (Lee Know, Hyunjin, Felix)

Smooth.... Interesting clap-like click-y fillers, very unusual style, screams "Edgy, cool" bad boys vibe...

I love the horns throughout the song. WHAT IS THAT SYNTH? Very interesting stuff.

I am vibing with this a lot.

Repetitions in Bridge doesn't work for me.

Rating :- 8.5/10

8. My Universe (Seungmin, I.N feat. Changbin)

Seungmin has really bright tone. I appreciate it. I.N has improved a lot.

I was not expecting it to be this catchy. Nice pop tune to it.

I am digging it.

Drags by the end tho.

Rating :- 8.25/10

9. God's Menu

Nothing to say. A breath of fresh air.

Masterpiece.

One caveat :- Chan's part in the R&B-ish breakdown. Doesn't work for me.

Rating :- 9.5/10

10. Easy

Now this is interesting. I absolutely love the Bell-like synth throughout song. Surprisingly strong pre-chorus. And chorus has so much personality, from the way they sing it, they embody it's swagger.

Hyunjin and Changbin standout in this song along with I.N.

The last breakdown was crazy. A really strong B-side. Among my all-time fav in KPOP, that's for sure.

Rating :- 9/10

11. Pacemaker

I love that they are trying the club sound. I love the overall flow of the song, but the chorus falls flat, it had subpar build-up.

Reminds me a lot of EXO's Lotto...

Above average song.

Rating :- 7.75/10

12. Airplane

Here comes the first WEAK song.

There is nothing special or unique about. Nothing to enjoy in particular.

Except for the rap parts, Not much in the song. Filler song.

Rating :- 3/10

13. Another Day

Flat song. Nothing interesting about it except for the few harmonies popping up here and there. Filler song.

Rating :- 2/10

14. Phobia

This song is SPECIAL.

Everything is almost perfect.

We need to THAT PRE-CHORUS because HOLY SHIT......

When I first heard it, I didn't know what to do... Like, I froze for a minute.... You know the feeling when you heard something so good that you don't know what to do... That happened to me.

The synth is killing me. Good job on the production.

However, Chorus doesn't do pre-chorus justice IMO. Its passable, but it could have been lot better.

Felix and Hyunjin's rap part stood out. So much personality.

Fantastic track.

Rating :- 9.25/10

I see why you have your opinion about Another Day, however, I strongly disagree.

If you read the lyrics, the song is about loneliness and getting used to it as it is daily, constant, and pervades even times of rest. Because in this song the emotional pain is not sharp (as in Phobia, for instance) but numb and constant, more like a frustrating background noise, I think the song sounding like a gentle, tiredly sung lullaby is a good choice to accompany the themes of the song.

Lyrics don't really change my opinion. It was a gentle song, yes, wish it had more meat on the bones.

There’s really something about Phobia isn’t there? It was originally my favourite from the album (now it’s The Tortoise and The Hare) and I honesty think it deserves an M/V.

I see you’ve also discovered Easy! It’s like title track material. The confidence, the complete dedication to concept of the track is just top notch!

Easy is so good. Like, It could very well be a title track.
