When did you start listening to K-Pop and who got you hooked?

tho i knew about kpop's existence since i was like nine cuz a lot of my cousins were into jpop and kpop but i only started stanning and paying attention to bts

than there were a lot of armys hyping up blackpink back in 2017 so I decided to check them out and got into them after aiiyl and than kinda got sucked into kpop

I got into kpop by BTS in 2018 LY : TEAR was the one that make me to be interested in them

Early 2019, Twice got me into kpop

2018 Red Velvet

Late 2019, ddudduddu got me into kpop

Around 2009, Big Bang and 2ne1

then snsd got me hooked whew it's been 11 years

2011 Friend show me Epik High - Run Music Video and then Big Bang Somebody to love got me completely into Kpop.

i started listening in february 2019. i am a young fan, but i had no interests at the time (except a growing otaku) so i was very engaged and discovered so many fantastic groups

i got in though an attack on titan cover dance of bts's songs not today and dope as well as a cover of shinwa's perfect man. i thought it was cool so i started listening to the songs and gradually became more of a fan. so i started listening before 2019, but february that year was when i would officially call myself a kpop fan

i don't really know why i liked it so much at the time. i think i was charmed by the language, dance, fantastic mv's (i didn't watch mv's before kpop) and ofc the variety and reality shows. still my favorite part of kpop. i somehow fell in love with it all and here i am now

Hey! I started listening to Kpop in 2012, my first kpop song was 2NE1 - I Am The Best

Back then, I asked a new friend if she had ever heard of 2NE1 and she was like 'omg are you talking about kpop?' and so, a whole world opened for me :D

i started around 2014. i was a huge 2ne1 fan and i was following BTS very closely, because all of my friends were armys.

June 2011 with Big Bang and 4Minute

2015 with 4minute and snsd

It was January 29th 2017. I spent the entire day replaying blood sweat and tears. Then they came out with spring day which was a spiritual experience and after that I hated everything they released but I found other groups I liked.

2019 , Blackpink and Rosé have been my first bias ever on kpop.

I got hooked on 2ne1 in secondary school. I was obsessed with their songs. Then for a while I liked gee from snsd & Big Bang then I kind forgot and then I got back into K-pop due to Twice.

2010 with SNSD. I got hooked hard. Most of that summer I was into SNSD and kpop hard spending every night watching kpop related content like TV shows lol

2017 with BTS

My brothers were fans of kpop from 2009-2013 back then but i wasn't, so I kind of knew kpop with groups such as snsd, ft island and so on

In 2017 when DNA/Likey or Heart Shaker released, I felt interested but not enough to check them out and then my friend recommended to search Taeyong and I found his song ft Hitchhiker and its really weird lol.

But it was 2018 I became a casual listener when DDDD and Idol released, then I get to know Taeyong had a group called NCT, then I became a fan, but I do not realized at that time their concept were weird 😑 and I still stan them now and maybe for the future when all of SK citizens become NCT.

End of the story.

Early 2019 after watching the LoL World Championship opening ceremony -> Jeon Soyeon -> (G)I-DLE -> kpop.

But! My first encounter with kpop was way sooner than that with Kara (and also Wassup for some reason). I even purchased back then Kara's first two albums but stopped there since I thought it was already going down hill.

First album with Kim Sunghee was top tier then their music fell into girly pinky stuff that I had no interest in.

I started in 2019.

I heard BlackPink and liked them a lot but Big Bang is the one that actually got me hooked afterwards.

Then I found EXO and now I'm an EXO-L, what a journey

2015

i knew of it before but only started listening then after twice survival show sixteen

I listened from 2009 (SNSD, 2NE1,T-ara) but not got into kpop until Gidle debuted.

2014 I think

First time I ever heard a kpop song (apart from Gangnam style) was

TWICE - Likey (on youtube trending)

and then got fully hooked during Fancy era

After I saw hyuna at gangnam style, I got hooked to K-pop at 2012. Troublemaker, Hyuna, 4 Minute. It was good times

SNSD Gee and Suju got me hooked at first and I started loving T-ara and AfterSchool afterwards. Left kpop for quite awhile after both group pretty much went MIA especially T-ara..

July 2019, Mic Drop by BTS. With that song i knew i could find anything in that market.

The first time I listened to a kpop song it was 2012 and I casually discovered this mv of SS501, let me tell you I was OBSESSED

First kpop song I downloaded was Shinee's Lucifer around 2010. But I only actually got deep into it in january of 2017. What got me hooked was Got7's Just Right and If You Do + their variety shows/interviews. Not long after I completely fell for Monsta X and I've been into kpop since then.

The first groups that got me hooked is Apink and EXO in 2012.

like a lot of newbies my first was DDDD. I listened to blackpink's discography and added it to my general pop repertoire. I started a general k-pop binge process where I listened to the debut and last/most recent single of a crap ton of groups so I could get an idea of the scene. through a frankly ridiculously complicated system im working through other discography I care about
