Please give me time to decide between O.O or my Babymonster song of choice
What would be the absolute worst song you could use to introduce someone to K-Pop?

Hmm, worst song?

Babymonster sheesh - atrocious
Nct dream rains in heaven - 2000s american boy group fodder, and a bad one at that
-
I have tried "Dynamite" and that fizzled.. they were laughing at the lyrics .. still mock me about..
King Kong, kick the drum
Ding-dong, call my phone
For sometime my VMs to call them back were the above 2 lines..
so depends on your audience.. if they smart enough to care about lyrics, then better not use Kpop songs with English lyrics..
-
O.O
-
It would really depend on what they like, but lowkey it'd just be any song that doesn't sound like any other Kpop song, because they'd want something that sounds like it and won't be able to find anything.
-
Most of non kpop consumer i know think that kpop is a childish music genre
And i think if i introduce them to kpop with a song where the lyrics say "put my sneakers on " or " cake cake cake cake"
I'm sure that they would mock me saying that i'm trying to introduce them to kids pop

I just knew someone was gonna say this

I agree that it depends on the person you're introducing K-pop to. Bops can turn to Flops depending on who's listening.
I have tried to get friends and family to try K-pop, but they were not receptive for various reasons. When someone tried to introduce me to boygroups, they chose BTS's "MIC Drop (Aoki Remix)," which didn't get me into boygroups because Aoki wasn't remixing every other song released by a boygroup. Know your audience is the answer.

I think this one has to be up there.

Early Itzy would be good to introduce, just like late Twice like "I can't stop me" or even "The Feels"

Depends on what you mean. If you mean a song that is not a typical kpop song or if you just mean a bad song.....
It's probably best to take a song that is good, but not to good and a song that is kind of "normal" for kpop.
It you pick a "too good" song it's a risk they get a disappointed after that. It would say all early Blackpink would be pretty good start and maybe Dun-Dun Dance from Oh my Girl.
the worse? maybe Gangnam Style..... not because it's bad, but because it's not that typical for kpop.

A lot of people know/like gangdam style (this is small town america) (including the elm students I watch) so I wouldn't exactly say its the worst
I think simon says or mad dog by NCT127 would throw ppl off big time

Songs from [redacted] group, as well as [redacted]. Can't believe people still stan [redacted], users have others groups in their avatars and signature so I know they know what good music truly is, so it's confusing they're still think [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] [redacted] are good songs.
I guess personal taste and preference do matter.

I am pretty sure they do, but cat & dog has a repellant effect on me, I just can't see them the same. If anything Yeonjun Gum dance gif amplified it in a hilarious way XDD (I appreciate his dance skills tho)

I have such vivid memories of watching the mv multiple times IN class LMFAOO
I'm #1 Cat & Dog defender
and sticker
ALSO ALSO, gum is actually so fun it just looks silly but I digress
-
STICKER in my ideal delusional world NCT didn't release it.
Gum gif is silly but it did catch my attention after that so I gave it a listen, it was polarising but kinda fun. Not something I would listen to a lot but from time to time yeah I can find it fun.

As I said, it's not because I think it's bad, I think Gangnam Style is good, but It's not a typical kpop song maybe and could make people disappointed if they think all songs would be like Gangnam Style. So better to pick songs that are more mainstream kpop and not "outliners".
-
Glad you enjoy it. I like NCT sound too, best songs to dance to/hype your self up to but sticker was not for me though tbf I listened maybe once or twice near its release only.
