the first thing i thought when i saw the teasers was aespa's drama for sure but from there to call it a plagiarism is a reach kpop stans love to gatekeep everything their faves do or say, it's crazy

they are all trying to be 4th gen's blackpink/2ne1. newjeans has taken the spot of twice/snsd with their soft ass concepts

I am more worried about how cheap it looks. Has JYP completely given up on them?

It gave me more of a volcanic effect marvel set vibe. First teaser set remind me thor ragnarok first scene The second concept photo reminds me a bit of Born Pink, that's all. I couldn't figure out what they were criticizing about the typical girlcrush concept. The font resembles Drama, that's all. Overall, it's not a concept that Itzy hasn't done. Mafia and Voltage are already in this style.

I honestly think if Lia was there, it would give off a different vibe also. She anchors them a lot with their image. Softens them a bit.

I think it's the number of members. When I first saw their teaser video I genuinely thought it was aespa lol.

I do think it's a case of similar concepts, but not copying/plagiarism.

sneakers isn't unique either. It's not that I think it doesn't suit itzy, but jyp. dalla dalla and wannabe are good but after that idk what their concept is anymore

People will always complain about ITZY. If they come back with their teen crush concept, people say it's time to innovate, and when they do try something different, people accuse them of plagiarism and being copycats.

Even if they aren't, how could anyone familiar with the kpop scene not remember of aespa immediately after seeing the teasers? Like, even if that wasn't the intention and it's just coincidence, doesn't change the fact that there's a lot of similarities - from hairstyles to outfits to the teaser itself etc.

I think people are just trying to find a pattern because they look different there

I don't know why people like to re-write history so bad when It comes to ITZY. They are doing what they have been doing since the debut. There is no identity crisis. Their comebacks are upbright during summer (Icy, Not Shy, Sneakers, Cake) and more darker and/or hard-hitting during other sessions.

Born To Be's aesthetic itself is very similar from what they did since Mafia and even recently with Ringo.

It does look a little like Aespa

ITZY and Aespa have always have had some similarities in style and concept, even if Aespa has a bit more hiphop influence in their concept.
