Aespas song was OK, and their debut was fairly bigger I guess. But for Babymon, In my opinion (You can't hurt me because I said In my opinion those are the rules.) it feels as if they found a long-forgotten tomb, where a rotting forgotten disc was coated in dust. They then inserted it into a player. Then, the song (I forgot what it was called??) started playing. However, rather than a periodic table of elements coded song, the cacophony that started exploding from the player was a sensory assault. Their eyes watered up and turned a deep shade of pink as if exposed to an ancient curse, and their ears attempted to close up on themselves because of how disruptive it was to their auditory senses. They were also fairly big at their debut, maybe equal to aespa! Idk though, I don't really prefer one over the other.

The hype around aespa including the plagarism controversy made it a memorable debut. People are talking and making threads upon threads about them. Babymon’s debut is so tepid, it’s kinda weird.
Youtube is Blinks domain and it seems many love BM too based on the streaming numbers. SM stans only know how to talk but they don’t like to do the work, poor aespa.
At least Aespa has me checking out their music when something new drops to see if I like since I liked their Tetris song. I have like zero interest in Babymonster - nothing appeals to me etc.
Aespa seemed bigger and they seemed to do better on Korean charts but based on data at least globally baemon is doing better on youtube and spotify . so I guess they are doing about the same. Aespa did get a national hit the next year though
As much as people say they aren't interested in baemon all I see is people making threads about them lol and on twitter people can't stop coming for them at least they aren't ignored lol

Baemon had a messy debut, YG going through a tough time right now, and due to that, their debut has been kind of lackluster. It's crazy how they went from being hyped at the beginning of the year to this.
Was not expecting this. When Batter Up came out, I thought it was kind of a weak debut, but I figured they'd still do well despite that because they're from YG and are BP's little sister group. They are underperforming more than I expected in Korea. I thought they'd be climbing the charts by now.
I guess I underestimated the importance of Ahyeon. Or who knows, with Batter Up, maybe they still would have underperformed. Having a group that is like 80% foreign was a...choice for YG. Only time will tell what'll happen.

You could tell that even if they weren't #1 in the charts, this debut felt huge for anybody
In contrary i see not a lot of talks around BabyMonsters on koreans forum
They are not smashing the chart either
And even on the forum there was a lot of thread around them for 2-3 days, and now it seems mike everybody already move on from babyMonsters

i think if yg debuted baemon not long after their pre-debut show when the hype was still high instead of waiting for like half a year... with all the ahyeon mess, being vague about it and saying they delayed their debut to make the highest quality, their debut could have been bigger but yg gonna be yg
I feel like BM was more hyped beforehand, but due to their date being pushed around a lot, overshadowed by speculation about Blackpink's contracts, the visual dropping out, and the song sounding like something that was probably put together a decade ago for 2ne1, it's kinda fizzled out. I'm sure they'll still do great in the future, they just need a more viral hit. I'm still honestly not even clear if this is their official debut, or some preview track like when exo released "history" and "what is love" ahead of the actual debut promotions.

taking it as a pre-release/warm-up release. i think they might be following the ikon route where they released like 7 MVs for their debut then they compiled the songs into a studio album a few months later. though i doubt BM will be releasing that many songs as MVs

Black Mamba is one of the best debut songs I’ve ever heard.
Too early to tell from a charting/metrics side of things. If you take out Kcharting and the overall reception of the debuts then Babymon has an argument from a success perspective. I'm not really across this but they got more youtube views and no doubt more spotify streams etc. Probably a bigger social media presence too.
That said, I think Aespa in terms of which was the bigger event. We knew Baemon was going to be BP/YG coded.
Aespa gave us everything, whether you liked it or not. Multiverse, metaverse, AI, Kwangya and so on.

It'll depend on how Baemon carries on at least until after a year. Aespa had a grand slam where they won some daesangs in their debut year and Black Mamba had a lot of hype, it was everywhere. Other than that, I feel like it's too early to judge.
Sm did a great job at marketing aespa. Black mamba is a terrible song. Babymonster on the other hand had a decent debut. It wasn't super noisy like Bp's comebacks. But their marketing is absolutely 0 lol. They just debuted and disappeared

Like, it really feels like YG just put something out arbitrarily. And, it makes me wonder why? Ahyeon leaving seems like it threw a wrench into things, and they said let's drop this to introduce the members and then comeback and regroup.
Which is weird. YG has never had a problem delaying a release even if it was anticipated. If they had waited to debut Baemon until next year after reworking the debut to highlight the 6 members for better impact in Korea, no one would have batted an eye because it's YG.

ahyeon's departure isn't confirmed. Their debut reminds me of lisa's solo debut. I hope i'm wrong. These young girls deserves a lot better
i remember when aespa debuted, the hype was so good, not only online but irl i remember my people casually chatting about black mamba and how pretty the members was
