Now, anyone who is into kpop knows that the 'Nations Girl Group' title is a huge one to have. It essentially means South Korea has chosen you as ther representative girl group. Only SNSD, the original 'Nations Girl Group' and one of the inventors of the Hallyu wave all over Asia, and TWICE, who re-invented that wave in Japan were ever given the title by Korea. And personally, I think NewJeans is next to inherit the title. They have Hype Boy, arguably the biggest hit of the 4th generation that went mega-viral all over Korea. Artists like Lee Hyori, S.E.S Bada and Eugene, Twice's Sana, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung, SNSD's Taeyeon, and many other celebrities across generations have acknowledged the group. And they are continuing the Hallyu wave in kpop's current biggest market, the US. NewJeans have also been chosen to represent South Korean culture on many occasions.

Obviously, as international fans, our opinions about this don't have as much weight as Koreans, but I think with the road they are going down, NewJeans will get the 'Nations Girl Group' title are something adjacent to it.
