I've been into kpop for several years now. While I'm not as obsessed with it as I once was, I still love it. It's just normal music to me now. I don't think I'll ever completely give it up, because that would be like never listening to music again.
When will you be done with kpop?

When in my early 20s, I thought I'd drop it by the time I was 26....
I'm 29 now.
I'm not as obsessed as I was about it, but I think I'll keep checking out the really popular groups as long as HYBE, SM, YG, and JYPE exist, and I'll check out the smaller groups as long as AKP still exists.
If YG and JYPE are absorbed into a bigger company much like SM has been, then I'll probably really be done. The competition in KPOP (while extremely toxic and unnecessary) does feed my need to keep up with what's being put out, and that's fed a lot by the BIG 3/4 or whatever they are now. Once that dies, KPOP will be just like every other music market and I'll still listen to it, but won't feel as compelled to keep up with it.
Especially if AKP disappears. Being on here helps me keep up with and learn about groups I don't follow as closely, so if this is gone, KPOP will be less of a hobby and more of an occasional dalliance.

I don't know. Probably when I become an adult and have kids. I think I'll still be a kpop fan when I'm in college, your still pretty young in college. I don't see myself stanning once the 5th gen starts, I'll be too old then, and all my favorite groups will probably be disbanded because they've gotten old too. I wouldn't want to stan 2012 liners when I'm in my 20s. That'll be weird.

wouldn't that mean their albums are more vluable???

When SNSD fully disband. Like proper actual legit disband, not a 10 year hiatus lol.

the kpop machine may fade away, but the songs will remain for me

I'm not sure, I guess when the music stops being interesting to me. I've never been the type to have a stan account or anything like that, I'm more of a "listen to the music and peep the interviews" kind of fan. And occasionally check out the fan-related meme content if I'm really into a group. Kpop is a pretty youthful genre and I'm in the same age group as the 3rd Gen groups now. It doesn't mean I can't or won't listen to newer stuff, though.
Although if life takes me into a direction where I get to write and produce for newer and active groups, of course, I'll probably be around indefinitely.

i think i'll always like the music. when twice disbands i'll probably be a casual listener though.
-
when BTS goes bye bye i'll just leave 95% of k-pop cause BTS is what im primarily in for
maybe when Stray Kids is bye bye cause after Bangtan, they're my 2nd
but mainly when BTS as a whole says "peace" that's when i call it quits.
cause BTS is what got me in & what's getting me out

A very good question. I've been into it for 12 years now. Longer than anything else I've followed and maybe it's time to take a step back. I don't enjoy it as much as I used to. I still listen to second gen as it had the best music for me but apart from Twice, none of the current groups thrill me. Comebacks are often disappointing and I find the B sides better than the main track. As with most things in life, not as good as it used to be.

i'm not sure i'll ever be done. sure, I'm not as obsessed, but i like the new music and old music. plus, if i promised my friends and my brother to a skz concert, how am i not supposed to be done with kpop?
kpop's like an annoying little sister who follows you wherever you go but you don't really mind.
