seeing 40 year olds being the majority for some groups is a bit sus
MILF K-ARMYS
So the immediate difference is that gg's demographic is a lot more diverse compared to bgs
Guess this further solidifies the notion of ggs being more likeable to the ''general public'' or ''casual listeners'',be it in Korea or internationally.
Okay does anyone know if there’s a chance minors are using their mothers card to order albums? That’d explain some of these sales
What about 0-10 year olds?

Buy album for their children i guess.

So we're thinking that some parents marked their kids age and others forgot and marked their own age?

I don't know how the calculation was done but adults in their forties usually have children who are teenagers.
shawols are younger than I thought?

True, but it feels like we are biasing this towards, "Of course, it's really only teens that listen to KPOP," by saying the 40 years olds had to have been buying for their teens.

So how did you explain the gap between people in their 30 & people in their 50 with people in their 40. They obviously buy for their kid between 0-16 years old with no money.
people in their 10 mean also 18& 19 years old so some have money and some not.
For most of group the kpop market target people between 0 - 25 years old. Look the stats for RV know for mature concept and adult fans their 2 biggest are people in their 20 & in their 30. The target audience for RV is between 25-35 so it fits well.

I don't think it's "obvious", I think it's confirmation bias and probably a very widespread conclusion that will be drawn because of this bias.
woah i didnt know svt's fan demographic was this young???40% 10-19 fangirls.....i mean im in this demographic too but woahh
i think that's mean its mostly people between 16 & 19 people under 15 are too young. it also means that it's a very trend group and that they still have a great career ahead of them with such young fans
but how do they calculate this even... who enters their AGE anywhere? I guess it would depend on if someone has made an account? But the account holder and the person buying need not necessarily be the same. Esp in families.
I'm assuming 10's would mostly be older teens who can have legal accounts while truly young ones here like 12-13 year olds will fall under the older categories of 30's 40's. Ofc there would be no way to tell.

Could just be a sample survey. Like when they poll people after movie screenings.

and I think you refuse to admit it because it would confirm the words of the haters on BTS .
In BTS & IU case the stats are useless, since their fanbase is made up of all the country If that reassures you.
But look at the others group like TxT, IVE, Aespa... There is no other logical explanation for bands being popular with 0-20s, a drop in 30s and a rise in 40s other than the fact that they are buying for their child. And when you look at the target audience it also matches.
And if you have a better explanation go ahead and explain it there.

why isn't there a random increase in male account then....do only mothers buy for their children.
I mean yeah i agree with your reasoning but it's not a forgone conclusion or the only right assumption. Correlation is not causation.
my thoughts exactly, kids obviously won't have accounts or their own credit cards to purchase this stuff, specially like 12 and under. The 40s on both sides for most groups I imagine are the parents or relatives purchasing for their kids.
That's my thoughts too. I didn't get my own card til I was fourteen and it was still blocked for some online purchases. It's weird how many fandoms barely have any fans in their 30s but lots in their 40s. Must be parents
