Taeyeon used to have more cute looks mainly because of her baby face. She was considered pretty but SNSD had members like Yoona, Yuri, Jessica Tiffany Seohyun who were much more lauded for their looks early on so Taeyeon looks weren't talked about as much especially as her voice could easily carry her regardless.

It was around when Taeyeon went blonde during the Boys that people started shifting their opinion and Taeyeon was being considered more of a visual. 2015 was when she exploded and put her up there with other visuals.
