Kpop artists that are known outside of the kpop niche in your country?

I live in the U.S

I would say BTS(like the most), Blackpink, and a little bit of PSY(I am pretty sure people still remember him).

blackpink (The crowd in France during PFW was insane)

BTS ( they sold out a stadium concert here)

Based on my own experience, Blackpink and BTS.

probably the same in Australia

EDIT: I should have clarified by what I mean by same - BTS and BP

BTS - they've only been to Australia once but they sold out every show.

BP - their songs are often played in fast food joints.

probably bts, mamamoo and tzuyu cuz of her archery video. Her face was used(most likely without her permission) to sell crackers.

Edit: Outside the kpop niche I'd say bts or Gangam style style it blew up was quite popular. There are many that exclusively like bts and maybe tzuyu she was the beautiful archery girl.

The same ones. Although most people just know him as the gangnam style guy, but everyone knows the song so that's a good thing lol

France - BTS, Stray Kids, Blackpink

Strangely, I see a LOT of Stray Kids merch, I live in Paris

BTS - heard Dynamite, Dynamite, Butter at various places. Bunnings ( home depot), Peter Alexander, Cotton On, Vegie shops etc...

BP - Milk tea shops. ( actually most milk tea shops in the CBD plays BP songs most of the time - HYLT specifically)

blackpink 100%, i think everyone around me(including those non-kpop stans) know all 4 members' name, and their songs are very well known too(esp dddd)

bts too, to a certain extent, i think everyone has heard of them, they have a lot of fans too, i hear their songs in shopping malls

bts and blackpink - their songs are almost constantly played on the radio and music tv channels

psy was also big between 2012 and 2015 but i'm not sure anyone actually remembers him except as "the gangnam style guy"

Over here people think kpop is another name for BTS. And they do know PSY but they think he’s Chinese. Kpop is the niche of the niche here

In German mainstream only Bts is known and psy because of gangnam style.

Malaysian gp know Blackpink (slight edge) and BTS the most. I think SNSD and Bigbang are known a bit here too (outside kpop niche).

BTS and BlackPink for the current Kpop.

Back then it was BigBang, Psy and Wonder Girls (because of Nobody that went viral).

In Germany BTS and PSY.

And so far those are the only groups I've heard on the radio here (I've heard Lisa's Money too though).

BTS is huge in my country but for the wrong reasons. They get memed a lot. Mostly girls love them and boys make fun of them. Here, "BTS=kpop=Gay"

Gangnam style is known. Bp kind of. But they don't get trolled as much.

As for songs, i have only heard dyna, Gs and butter. And there was viral edit of bwl dance with an hindi song.

In the UK I'd say Psy and I guess BTS at a stretch though neither are a household name (Gangnam Style would more fit that on its own as a song people know).

Most people I know might not know BTS by name but know that there's a very popular Korean boy group out there

In Texas, it's BTS. From little girls to older women. They play them in the store. Merchandise is always sold out. And Monsta X. That we bare bears thing was some good marketing. They are everywhere too.

KPOP is super huge here but from my circle who's not into kpop id say BTS and Blackpink and probably Super Junior and 2ne1 because of Sandara.

Blackpink (Lisa, Rosé, Jisoo and Jennie individually as well) and BTS, its pretty arguable which group is bigger here 🥬

in southern US, only PSY and BTS. they don't know the member's names but they know their brand and think the word kpop is synonymous with BTS.

If we go by the internet than people sometimes ask stuff on German websites about BTS, BLACKPINK, ATEEZ mostly but mainly BTS

If we go by if people recognize a KPop-artist than maybe just BTS

From what I saw in RL than maybe even MONSTA X because I saw a girl with a MX-shirt in a mall some years ago and a few days after Wonho was kicked out of the group someone put a poster in the entrace of a mall on wich was written how sad a fangirl felt that he got kicked out and that she would still suport him

Oh and NCT ... as Yangyang debuted German KPop-fans went crazy on the internet
