was lovelyz somewhat successful during it's heyday?

It's so sad. I liked their harmonizations and Mijoo is lovely (pun was not intended).

Maybe some will stay? Mijoo is really successful these days so it's weird the company is letting them go (I read that the members asked for a CB but the company kept ignoring them so obvs they won't resign).

Right after their big hit, Ah-Choo (which was about as popular as ASAP by StayC), their follow up song, Destiny, came out literally the same day as Cheer Up. Korea was obsessed with Twice in that moment, so Lovelyz got overshadowed. In the meantime GFriend had already hit it big and they had a similar concept. So when Lovelyz made their next comeback a year later, it was too late.

Mijoo's cute and successful these days with variety stuff, as for the other members idk what they've been doing but I really wish the best for all members in the future

This was expected but I have to admit all of Mijoo's gigs did get my hopes up. A little too late I guess.

I feel like it's a combination of the GP moving on and the company (also, I've got a feeling that Woollim had also been very successful before they even had Lovelyz under their umbrella: maybe once in the 2000s with Epik High, and likely again in the early 2010s with Infinite - correct me if I'm wrong tho 😅)

I did some research and found out that Woollim didn't have any GGs before Lovelyz, so that means they'd debuted only soloists and BGs before then (interestingly, they debuted Infinite in 2010 - which was the same year that Epik High left the company - and BabySoul had debuted as a soloist back in 2011 before becoming a Lovelyz member)...

(oh, and need I mention that JOO moved to Woollim from JYP Ent. in 2015? 😏)

Then Infinite were SUPER big, only EXO debuting was what took them down because of the concept and many fanbases flocking over, but Infinite were still popular. Tasty were also before Infinite, quite popular. They had solo artists I'm not counting after Nell.

Then Lovelyz, then GolCha, Rocket Punch and Drippin.

People are unaware that Woolim is an SM subsidary of SM C&C. They bought Woolim for Infinite. SM doesn't do anything though.

Of course 😢 (oh, and need I mention how Epik High - the first BG Woollim debuted, before Infinite, Taste, Lovelyz, etc. were even around - was with YG for some time after leaving Woollim but later left them in 2018? I heard that they signed with William Morris Endeavor in 2019 and have been with that agency since, so I was wondering if any of the Lovelyz members would follow Epik High's footsteps and sign with WME 🤔)

Going to be honest I can't remember one single song from them, did they ever had someting close to a hit?

I only rember some hype and talk about them, and yes, I thought they was long gone....
