They aren't and people shouldn't give them much of a hard time over this. There's not much legally they can do, besides filing dmca and ip take downs and flagging content to be followed up by law enforcement to find and arrest them. As a IT admin I can tell you this is hard. Why? Because the people doing this don't have to be in the country it's illegal for, plus most countries don't have extradition treaties for stuff like this.

The worst part is this AI stuff is ubiquitous,the genie is out of the bottle there's no putting it back in, so like hydra you cut off one head two more sprouts up, this will unfortunately happen again.

Unlike the old days of Photoshop and people hiring actors that look similar enough and make up etc to make videos and images like this, these AI systems allow you to do all of it nearly instantly and at zero costs and remotely.

Example if I wanted to I could make this nasty stuff in some far off country where it's not illegal and do so anonymously and just leave it on the web for your " customers" to find. Besides that you can program your AI of choice to continue studying your models to keep producing content on it's own without your input.You will have to get a way to get the vast majority of nations to start regulating AI technology or making it illegal to stop most of this

It's pretty messed up and a lot of people act like it's a harmless crime, remember going through this in the streamer community as well. Sad thing is it's only going to get worse as advancements in AI/machine learning continue.

It's really sickening and scary.

putting in my two cents:

don't think that deepfaking enabled this, for sure it was a catalyst and made things easier but as it stood, it started at least a decade ago from my reading and it was by skilled photoshoppers that went down the wrong path.

It runs much deeper than we see here.

The problem is technology advanced while socially, legally and culturally we are behind.

There should have been legislation in placed before AI algorithms became common use at the hand of every Joe in the corner.

Yes and all of the others the most famous ones are of eunwoo jungkook jimin and shinee. Certain gay websites have plenty with pictures, some porn sites that cater to the bl community have deepfake videos which claims to "parody" kpop you can use your imagination to see the cheesy acting by these actors before they get down to the sexual conduct. Initially this stuff primarily used real actors who looked similarly enough to the original celebrity and a few alterations like makeup and hairstyle changes did the rest. But with the Advent of deepfake videos, they no longer require RL porn stars to make these films, they can just be AI generated. This goes under the radar despite the countless amounts of this stuff being openly shared from Tumblr to Twitter. It doesn't receive the same scrutiny, it's counterpart female content receives so it goes by unnoticed and unpunished. I'm just pointing out that there's much more of this disgusting stuff out there, nobody should have to be subjected to it. But we live in a society of double standards a harmful double standard that believes men cannot be victims of SA and SH. That being said, trying to stop this stuff is nearly impossible without major legal reforms across the globe as I mentioned in a previous post about how easy this stuff is to make and how ubiquitous this technology is it's everywhere there's no closing Pandora's box it's already open

what strikes me as interesting is that this seems like a sort of "oh I finally realized the crossing of ethics" but it's like a decade and change overdue. Cowardly excuse. I only say cowardly because malicious and similar terms are pretty obvious already.

to those who blame men as a gender and as a monolithic group for this kind of behavior, I want to warn you that similar mindsets have been used to persecute and genocide races and genders before. Perpetrating that mindset can bring that way of thinking to those with less inhibitions and more means, as well as increasing the content in which one can independently reinforce their own confirmation bias.
