So, who's the savior of YG? Let's vote!

    I wanna see some real opinions, because this is an interesting debate. Blinks saying Blackpink saved YG, and they can save them again. Yet, YG brought back 2NE1 too and Babymonster will have their comeback as well, and all 3 groups will have their own World Tour.


    So, who's gonna save YG? One of them, all 3 or neither of them? That is also an option, because I can see a future where all 3 group will fail to deliver.


    I'm not talking about streaming numbers, btw! I'm talking about REAL money!

    From these 3, sure. I can't see 2NE1 and BM selling 1M albums, but I can see 2NE1 having a massive concert, also charting better than the other 2.


    Popularity can fade away pretty fast. I would be surprised if BP can do the same numbers that they did last year. Especially now that there are more mainstream and new groups out there.


    I'm not even sure if BP will have a real cb next year. This is YG, I can see him giving them 1 or 2 songs, not a full-album or even just an EP. If they want to sell a Single or a Mini-album again, they won't reach 1M. They never did that, only with full-albums, and I can't see YG giving them another full-album. That's why I made this poll.


    I don't remember, but I think BM's new cb is going to be an EP too, not a full-album, and 2NE1's cb I'm sure it's just an EP at best.

    BP hasn't released a physical single or ep since they started releasing albums. They can easily do it, every other major gg is

    Well I think Blackpink, for very obvious reasons. They are still the biggest gg in the world. I’m sure they will break their own record of album sales.


    2ne1- depends on the song that they will release. They’ve disbanded long time ago, so I don’t know how they will do.


    Babymonster- they will cover their expenses(especially those youtube ads money spent on them). But Babymonster started milking their fans right away, they have done already a lot of fan meetings, and I don’t think they will have big tour. Reason1- I’m sorry but their music sucks, except “Like That”. Reason2- They overmilking their biggest market by doing fanmeetings. Reason 3 - lack of songs

    On paper, yes BP is more popular, but if it's true, why YG paying money to do a cb for 2NE1. BM I can understand because they're new and they need a new Blackpink, but 2NE1 makes no sense if BP alone can save YG.

    Yes, but 2NE1 never got the same chance, hence my poll! It's not easy to compare 2NE1 and BP, because not the same era, only BP got every chance to shine, and BM massive hit or miss so far.

    Its not just on paper, its any conceivable metric. Let me put it this way, BP is so big I think they could release an album covering Nursery Rhymes and it would still chart and sell better than both 2ne1 and BM. Nothing against those groups, but BP is much larger.


    I would guess YG is doing a 2ne1 comeback because they like making money.

    But if I would guess something about the future.... I think they will start testing to broaded their concept a bit. Add one more girlgroup maybe that don't have the typical 2NE1/BP/BM concept but something different in concept and music style.

    An other possiblity is also that they will buy an other smaller company to add more groups of different styles. Or someone will buy them, but I doubt that right now.

    I absolutely love Blackpink , I love the girls from the group Babymonster , but damn, my whole heart still belongs to 2ne1 . Im betting on them because they are practically one of the very first girl groups that blew up K-pop girl groups in the distant past with their uniqueness. To be honest, im very interested in watching how three big monsters (in the good sense of the word!) in the person of these grandiose girl groups will exist under one roof in the company

    Now, this is the dumbest thing. Blackpink is massive, but a Nursery Rhyme cover wouldn't make 1B streams, LOL. Be serious. 😂 If they're that massive, why only their title tracks have massive numbers. I'm not saying their other songs doesn't have good streaming numbers, but compared to their title tracks, it's a huge gap. This is why I always said, Blinks mostly focusing on the title tracks, and tbf that's true about most people.


    Also, newer Kpop stans tend to forget that recency bias and what you see online is not the real representation of reality. 2NE1 disbanded like 8 years ago. Of course, they're not as big in the mainstream media as an active group.


    But look at SNSD's latest comeback. Many people thought they're finished, but they came back after 5 years, and Forever1 was #5 on Melon's HOT100 without any big PR.


    2NE1 has a massive fandom. Just because they're not active on SNS, doesn't mean they're nonexistent. Some of them are Blinks as well!


    If we want to talk about the impact on SNS, all I see on Twitter, Tiktok and Insta is people talking about the 2NE1 cb, but I only see Blinks mention BP's cb. But as I said, social media is not a real representation.


    This is why I made this poll, because it's not as simple as people think. Many groups or soloists proved people wrong when they said, they won't beat a record. People said the same about IU's first World Tour, yet she sold the tickets faster than BP and BTS.

    On paper, it's banned, yes, but just like everything in China, you can find a way to get around it.


    Also, just think about this. At least 80% of her sales are from China, so the rest of the world are not that interested in her.


    If we exclude China, her sales are around 300-500K overall. That's not bad, but compared to how hyped BP is, it's not good.

    I think it would be a combination of 2NE1 and Blackpink.

    If the songs are excellent, it would be a good showcase of talent between all three groups.


    Besides great songs being critical, I wonder how well will they plan and roll out the promo for 2NE1 and Blackpink?

    Blackpink has been YG's only leg to stand on since 2NE1 disbanded and Bigbang activities dried out, but as to whether BP will "save" YG in the future, that would require consistent group activities from them which isn't likely, so where it stands things aren't boding well for YG...

    I think 2ne1 is just signed on to do a farewell tour, maybe release 1 song but not an album. i mean us Blackjacks never got closure neither did 2ne1, so yeah i wouldnt put it on 2ne1's shoulders to save YG as you say. They are performing a tour for Blackjacks and thats it. Of course Yg will benefit, but us BJ's will benefit more cause we get to see them one last time.

    Every country including Korean & Japanese fans bulk buy. Otherwise, how the fans got themselves into fansign and lucky draw events. China is always singled out becauze there is a more concerted effort on their end. They are very organised in pooling funds and support their artists. Unlike KR and JP fans that work in silo. But again, those are still bull buying

    Remove all streams from SEA countries and see how many streams your faves will get is the same logic you're using :cursing: :cursing:


    Their born pink album already proved they're not reliant on their chinese fandoms :cursing: :cursing:
