I was genuinely surprised You and Me performed mediocre. I expected her to at least do better than Solo since BP is a bigger brand now than before.
You and me is already out in 2022 when she performed that song in tour and only last october she release it officially. It was just a gift song for us Fan and you& me don't even have an MV.

I'm not familiar with Spotify or playlisting, but I remember reading someone saying that playlisting is different from ads. Companies can push it, but if there's no demand, it will naturally fall off the playlist. That's why it's trickier and riskier to use than Yt ads; it doesn't guarantee huge success and obvious results like Yt ads do if the songs itself didn't do well. For example, before being added to TTH, 'Attention' had already entered Spotify's Top Global 200, and their streams were consistently high before enter that playlist, with a broad audience across more different countries. So, playlisting was able to help them even more.
Even i don't know that much about playlisting. I remeber someone saying TTH will only help if your song stay within top 20 for a longer period of time, staying at bottom will do nothing ( only will increase total reach lol). Eventho attention was getting major playlist, hypeboy still outstream it.

But I suppose one tricky thing with playlisting on Spotify is that it doesn't do much if the songs itself don't go viral, especially on TikTok. 50/50 for example and Newjeans in much smaller scale which it helps them to keep going with playlisting as support. Probably it's harder to control and not too guaranteed, which is why not many Kpop companies have using this method.
Didn't new jeans debut song was already added on TTH ( biggest playlist) so i think if agency wanted they can do. Babymonster already have good mv views even if you remove their ads so why not focus on spotify??

Instead of ads, they should invest more on playlisting like ador did with newjeans. Even my fave songs ootg got boosting with it.
