Even without the backlash, would she have really done that well?
Let's put it like this:
If she was performing near me, I would probably have gotten a ticket just for fun and I'm not even her stan.
She was one of those Kpop figures that were liked by many all across the board, not just by a fandom or just multis.
Now, I would definitely pass and I think many others did too.

Hyuna's always been hard for me to gauge. Everyone liked her but it felt like ages since I'd seen people talk about her as an artist

I'd say I'm surprised, but the backlash seemed gigantic and now this...
Yea I knew the real backlash was going to hit harder than her only selling 5k copies of her most recent album.

Honestly if she had done a world tour when I'm Not Cool went viral, I think it may have worked but now that she has dug her self a big hole... not so much

She's apparently at 16k right now which is her second best selling album. And its also her highest selling first day, week and month for an album...

Last time was literally before her and Dawn came out as dating. When they joined p-nation their management basically commercialised their relationship to try and get him a career and her ad deals started to bring him in. I honestly don't think we give enough blame to P-Nation for that whole mess. They marketed Dawn as essentially 'Hyuna's BF' and Hyuna as 'ooooh look she has a BF'. Sometimes I do wonder how much that marketing negatively impacted them both as individual artists (including mental health) and as a couple. They basically told Dawn having a career and being relevant was reliant on him being her plus 1 and told her, she needed to carry his career with her fame and relevancy. I wonder if she at some point low key felt the only reason he was with her anymore was because she was his career and he felt insecure because he needed to hold onto her for both, maybe that also played into the whole marriage thing.

Yes. I have no doubt she would have sold out or been close to it. Girl has been in the industry for well over a decade and had many hit songs. She may not have a huge fanbase, but the amount of multi's who would have gone is insane, especially because her career and discog (group, unit and solo) meant she could have some amazing stages. She's was a second and third gen multi fave.

I agree.
She could have turned those concerts into fun parties for both nostalgic Kpop fans and newer ones who want to see what she's all about, but she messed it up for herself.

Thats unfortunate.
She was one of those Idols you liked even if you were not really a big fan. She was one of those acts you would probably buy a ticket to their concert if it was near you.
But she made a lot of missteps in recent years and her music doesn’t seem to reach people like it did before as well. Now her whole relationship situation. I feel bad for her, but it’s also kinda her own fault.
Still wish her all the best tho.

Whats even more annoying is that her recent CB was better than most of what she put out under P Nation. Even without the missteps, if she hadn't been dating him she still would have sold out.

No matter what we say Hyuna never had enough of fanbase to tour big. She is more of a festival artist and perhaps tour on smaller scane (which is what she has done).
Scandal aside, my problem with her, for few years now, is that she lacks passion to be on stage. She often comes out and does... whatever. She literally just sings few parts, walks on the stage and sometimes does some dance moves here and there
Which is a complete opposite to Hyuna we are used to.

Nahhhh, this is sad bcs Hyuna has genuinely good songs with good lyrics Welp

Yall that's actually her best selling album in years

You know KNOW Hyuna!

Bruh she went to an event where people wouldn't give af and got a very mute response in comparison to last time so rip for her
-
Honestly she was one of my ride or dies until this mess but P Nation really screwed them over (mostly him tbf)
- her brand deals expanding to include him but him having no solo ones
- him only getting invited to shows with her
- the engagement rings made from all his savings (low key wonder how much that media play made them stay together for a while longer)
-
I have to get my refund.

She was also my ride ot die, together with exo she was my card to kpop. I started cooling off when she started half assing her performances and then I completely cooled off when she started dating this guy. I never saw her as my feminist icon, I saw her as cool and sensitive to other people type of person.
I followed her more closely than many casuals here and I agree with everything wrote.
When they just joined pnation they went on knowing bros and said this is their first and last appearance together so I was veryyyy confused when they became 1+1 package deal. I think they mixed business and pleasure and that took a tool on their relationship as well

TBH and in my honest opinion the backlash seems so much on her end. People are doing more to cancel her than the men.
And also she probably wouldn’t have sold out these venues even without the scandal. Lots of k-pop companies aren’t really being realistic and over estimate. The Boyz, Chu, TXT and Hyuna were and are struggling to sell out their stops.
-
I haven't seen much promo for her music after she left Cube. Her influence on Cube exists to this day.
She just hasn't been the same artist and hasn't had the same image since. Her current relationship isn't the main reason for this, although it's a factor. Mainly, she never evolved with the times musically, so it's hard to tap in with new K-pop fans. Her fanbase isn't passionate enough. It seems to me she mostly had many casual fans who rode the wave and respected her.
I don't see how anyone could see this situation and feel great about it. It's truly sad, especially if you grew up seeing her as an iconic figure of sorts.

In society it has always been easier to cancel women than men, it svcks.

I never gave a shit about any of those Burning Sun guys and didn't even know some of them.
Still, I talked more shit about them than I ever did about Hyuna.
I liked Hyuna and was a casual fan. That's when it feels more like a disappointment.
-
I'm not sure how big the venues would be
Thus, it seems that she was targeting venues with around 1000-1500 capacity.
-
There's no way she didn't sell out that come on that's just ridiculous.
I could probably sell that out.
