is it surprising that IVE & Itzy individual instagram are gaining followers so slowly ??

Ive is known as wonyoung yujin and friends so its not surprising that the 4 non ex izone members of ive are nugus.

And about itzy, they just started their instagram too late, they are not in the trend anymore and get ignored by kpop fans. If itzy members made their instagram account during wannabe era, they would had massively blown up.

so i'm curious to know why these 2 groups who are successfull and have a solid fanbase seems to have such low interest of people as individuals.

I don’t think this is a fair comparison tbh. Aespa opened their insta in the hight of their popularity ( it was a great strategy). Itzy had to wait 5 years to open theirs Blame jyp, they should have opened it around Wannabe era Ive’s case is different as two members already had their own instagram. Would have been better for the whole group to debut with their own

Yujin and Wonyoung both opened their Instagram accounts well before December 2023, so it's not a fair comparison with the other IVE members.

This applies to Twice, too. The members only opened their Instagram accounts on May 17 2022, over six years after they exploded in popularity following the release of "Cheer Up" in April 2016. Just another case of mismanagement by JYPE I suppose.

Alright, so I just went back and checked, and it turns out my assumption was not correct. Yujin and Wonyoung did not open Instagram accounts as part of Iz*One promotions.

Wonyoung opened her account on May 24 2021, shortly after Iz*one's disbandment on April 29 2021.

Yujin opened her account all the way back on December 27 2017. This was shortly after Produce 48 was announced (November 29 2017), but well before the show started airing (June 15 2018). It's not clear why Yujin was given an Instagram account but Wonyoung wasn't, since they were both trainees at Starship.

I don't even know what to say for ITZY, I'm actually confused, cause 3 to 4 million followers for the active members in 4 months is far from bad

So why do Wonyoung and Yujin, with 10.9M and 7.4M followers, have 3x to 6x more followers than the other Ive members? Are they Southeast Asian? You are implying that only Southeast Asian members can boost IG followers.

To put things into perspective, I created the chart below, which shows the number of followers for each member of the three groups, based on the days after their accounts were made public. The chart ends at Day 133, since that corresponds to June 23rd for Itzy, the group that has had their accounts for the least amount of time.

I don't think Instagram keeps track of followers on a daily basis, do they? I gathered my data from Kpop-Radar. That site tracks daily changes in follower counts, but only provides data for the past 90 days.

What matters are the average likes each have

I just took a quick glance at their dev API and it seems you should be able to query followrr count per day. Prolly no limit on how far you can go back
