Did G-Idle latest comeback underperform ?

They definitely did... which is very surprising to be honest coming from 3 consecutive PAK combacks. GIDLE in comparison to Ive, did worse...

But Fate (b side) is rising. It may be a black horse..

They got PAKs the previous 4 comebacks, and globally it was ok. imo they took the feminist shtick too far and alienated a large portion of their fanbase.

Globally they are equal 4th with BM for new girl groups.

Cube and co. will have the advantage going into contract renewal negotiations.

I would say, Queencard went viral because of the catchy melody + dance. Mean people are more attached to their music than the group itself (which is sad).

Sure, Super Lady is not as popular as their three previous comebacks but honestly, no streaks go on forever. Plus, the surprising performance of Wife and Fate make up for SL's shortcomings imo. All in all, I don't think this comeback is a flop.

Just want to say that AKP generally wrote off aespa's GIRLS era as FLOP despite them having Girls debut top 10 and then illusion as a semi-hit just like wife and fate.

AKP would make up ad hoc requirements on the fly and call anything that is not top charting for centuries a flop so who cares.

They are not getting PAKs but they are still doing well. Melon daily top 20 is solid af.

What's impressive is gidle having 3 songs in top30 of all charts. Wife and fate didn't even have any major promo.

But what's unimpressive is the fact that after putting out a hit like queencard and three consecutive titles with paks not even one song went top10 on all charts.

Even their Spotify streams went down.

All their songs can only be judged thru longevity now.

The last few eras they had proper promotions. This era only had less than a week before it ended because Shuhua was sick. If they had've performed more, I think they would have done better digitally.

They made the biggest error of their careers for not going for international success seriously while they still could, super lady barely got 25k likes on melon... a song that is doing moderately good on the chart can barely make 25k likes... and the fact their next song could easily not even get that is hilarious, choosing korea over international success is madness.

to be fair G idle is an older group personally it's hard to remain popular but they have done well all these years and personally I think they are more of 3.5 gen than 4th gen

well... its not that it flopped. it did do worse on the charts in comparison to nxde tho for example. I really didn't like super lady... it sounded soooo dated and hurt my ears a bit. the mv, although super expensive... looked boring? I dont know how else to describe it. Wife was better, I think its charting #10 on melon still

Like were would I be able to listen to Super Lady? At school, on my way to work, while studying? The song is great for concerts and festivals but not for everyday consumption. That's why the streams are so low.

As you can see, Fate is rising on the charts because you can actually listen to that song during any occasion, cooking, cleaning, shopping, going to work, or jogging. We are in a time where noise music is truly getting canceled. Hopefully their next release is much better.

It happens, they still got 2 top 15 songs, for a Cube groups that is good, they sold a lot of albums and have more material for their upcoming tour.

Gidle has been doing prerelease for last few comebacks. They releasedAllergy before Queencard (allergy was top 20), I Do before I Want That. Wife is also a pre-release

Its relative. We have been used to them getting #1 in their last couple of comebacks.

This time when promoting they could only hit #10. Plus their global charting was ok, but nothing to jump up and down about.

imo they re-new their contract with Cube/Kakao, because both need each other, unless some decide to go their own way.

They cut promotions early on due to the health decline of members. I think they would have seen even more success if not for that.
