Wow, I went to search and Yunjin even surpassed Chaewon's followers. Interesting.

Ive was formed to hit the market asap and capitalise on the ex-Izone's popularity. The other members were chosen to make the ex-Izone members standout more. Most of the solo promotions have gone to the ex-Izone members. Ive is effectively ex-Izone and friends.

Its the polar opposite of Twice post the Tszyu scandal.

They have a different strategy and both a valid. One is to make as much money and get roi asap, and another is to make more money longer term.

Why do u guys pretend company stans don't make a difference in these numbers? Of course big4 idols are more popular than non big4 idols, that should be a no brainer. Instant popularity is one of the reasons why so many trainees want to debut in big4. For most cases, however, popularity come with time, which is true for Wonyoung and Yujin, who debuted earlier than other IVE members. If you guys don't remember, Sakura also used to be way more popular than Wonyoung before I*zone bc she already had a career.

So this popularity gap comparison is silly lol. There are so many predictable factors in this.

But that would nullify one argument or the other. Either it's they just opened their accs and got the usual amount of followers non big4 get, or they will reach big numbers with time like WY and YJ. Both don't work together because WY and YJ didnt had instant 1m followers either.

When Minnie, Shuhua, Yuqi and Miyeon opened their Instagram accounts in 2021, Yuqi surpassed 400k in 1 day, Minnie and Miyeon in 2 days and Shuhua in 3 days.

Have in mind in 2021 they were in the middle of a scandal and everyone was expecting them to be done. They weren't selling almost 2 millions, having multiple big hits and touring globally

It's only natural for people to expect more from members of a top gg like IVE.

As a twice stan, I see the disparity between Nayeon and Jihyo and it’s not like JIhyo is widely hyped by K-pop Stans.

Unless you are BP or BTS, only few members are relevant, it’s been like this since the beginning so I don’t know why it should be different for IVE.

I think this only shows that the least popular members in Aespa and Lesserafim are individually more popular than the least popular members in IVE. There's nothing much to highlight here.

I'm not saying they have to reach Wonyoung and Yujin numbers, but It would be nice if they did better or as good as their peers like aespa and Le sserafim.

So the problem now is that they are making numbers that other top non big4 gg members had like... 2 years before? One that promoted heavily in China, another with big fanbase in Thailand and another that got popularity with K/DA, and on top of that, they opened their ig accounts after 3 years being active and getting hits? That is such a silly expectation when what ppl whine about the most is how the other 4 Ive members barely get any promotion.

instagram is banned in China so not sure what has being popular in China to do with instagram followers

also Gidle during that time were not as popular as today, in the middle of a scandal and didn't sold millions, not sure why are you surprised that people are shocked that the members are pulling smaller numbers, frankly i expected at least 1 mil in 1st day

Actually i think they would ended better if they opened immediately after "After Like", the peak was the highest back then, i think is fine to work from the down to up so overall is not a big issue

Maybe organically there aren't as popular as some people think. This comeback, I don't think they made it into any global charts. As for Korean charts et al. #EVERYBODYKNOWS.

its easy, less ppl knows the info that they open instagram account = less follower, just compare starship & ive social media account follower with other group u'll get the answer

I remember saying Yunjin's popularity is only after Yujin and Wonyoung in IVE and got riled up by the IVE stans on this forum lol

And I still stand by that now. The difference in promotion tactics by the companies involved play a huge role in this.

LSRF give the vibe that every member is equally important to the group, Aespa to the lesser extent and we have IVE - Yujin/Wonyoung and their sidekicks. Just yesterday I watched a fancam where Leeseo literally got told to move the seat to the back so that Yujin could sit at the front row with Wonyoung. Like I've never seen that shit happening with any of my favorite groups so it's highly memorable to me.
