Are the visuals from Hybe’s Dream academy prettier than visuals from Kpop groups?

Honestly, I don't really know.... It seems like HYBE wants to make girl groups that are not k-pop groups now..

imo the majority of people in Western countries would say so.

are Korean visuals. Everyone's preferences as to what is a visual is different.

But generalizing, China prefers stick thin, Korea very thin, and Western countries prefer more curves.

If Korean singers can release music in non-korean languages then anyone can release a song in Korean. You don't have to admit it but by definition that would still be Kpop.

I don't like to put words in people's mouths so just to be clear I'm not assuming but asking if you meant this:

When you say "closely related countries", does that bracket end at South Asia?

Because (and I'm not saying you) many people have made it very clear that they don't want south asian visuals in mainstream Kpop. I do not see how this is possibly perceived as anything but racism since the primary factor differentiating south asia from north east asia is skin colour and eye shape. It's less about distance from Korea and more about gatekeeping people based on the colour of their skin and shape of their eyes.

It's disgusting behaviour, and really ironic considering how not too long ago racist caricatures of yellow skin and slanted eyes were prominent for east asians (China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan).

I hope a lot of the these east asians who are using semantics veiled racism realise the irony in what they are doing.

Some of them are pretty but I don’t think there are many standouts. I see better looking people irl

I just see average looking girls, if we compare the most outstanding visuals in that group with the well known kpop visuals.. kpop girls win easily.

I'm not saying these girls are not pretty but I've seen girls like that ( or prettier) in the US, latam . I haven't been in Europe but I've seen some European girls irl that are pretty especially from Eastern Europe.

Wonyoung is pretty wherever she goes.

manon is insanely gorgeous

I feel like they look somewhat more diverse than standard 4th gen K-Pop idols which is a good thing (though it doesn't say that much because lbr K-Pop standards these days are insanely narrow), and I'm not just talking about ethnicity because the Korean (and other East/SE Asian contestants) also seem to have visuals that are somewhat unconventional for current K-Pop and it makes them stand out more. They all definitely don't look any worse than any other K-Pop idols.

^ from leaks, the candidates are stacked with talent not visuals much like BM, but even better in the talent department. we shall see.
