Queendom Puzzle's Bora Hate Bandwagon is Ridiculous

Look on the bright side, there are ppl like me that never liked her to begin with, so there's no backs for us to turn.

Those people never truly liked or supported Bora to begin with.

Just like they are hate bandwagoners now, they only liked her because that's what everyone else was doing.

If you truly like and support something or someone, it takes more than that to lose interest. Unfortunately, Bora doesn't have a strong or loud fanbase. That's the only way you can survive the fickle attitudes of KPOP fans.

The x-factor is top-tier visuals. (and being from a well known company)

kpop stans will just channel their hatred whenever they had the chance, and as long as it is not their fav

that "it factor" or whatever else it's called is complete bias, it's just the way kpop fans deal with the unfairness in the world, there is nothing like that in my opinion, some idols just fare better because they have better ressources.

Bora is a strange case, people always feign like they appreciate her but never actually vote for her or support her, and now, they turned against her just because they never really cared about her in the first place.

It's not a strange case. They did this with ex-fx Luna, Chaeyeon, and to a lesser extent Lily and Wendy. Basically feign support for talented idols that don't give them butterflies so they don't look that shallow

That said, i will not agree with your statement either, because top tier visuals, even in Kpop, are extremely diverse

Other than skinny and pale, which most idols fit, every visually popular idol has different features and the ones that would be considered the most universally attractive are rarely IT girls, in fact, not even the most popular in their own groups

I know for sure if you ask people irl who are not into the kpop loop, no one would guess karina or wonyoung or kazuha or jennie( no hate to them they are pretty obviously ) are more popular visually than miyeon or sana or heejin

Hell i can even name some real nugus ( pixy dia and wjsn eunseo for example) who'd get a LOT more attention irl than some of the 'top visuals'

Miyeon, Sana, and Heejin are both considered visuals in their groups though? And they are also amongst the most popular members from their perspective groups. So your argument there makes no sense.

And if you asked Koreans (whose beauty standards KPOP is based on), Karina and Wonyoung would definitely rank amongst the top. Kazuha and Jennie seem to get mixed reactions though.

It's no coincidence that the most popular and hyped members in KPOP groups are considered visuals. If you look at every single top GG out right now, the most popular member is 9/10 the one considered the visual rather than the one who is most "talented". Which is what I was talking about.

And this is why I did not want Cherry Bullet, Purple Kiss or Weeekly near this show. Mnet is known for their evil editing. I don't watch Queendom. I have already watched two Korean survival shows and it was the same thing each time, who is the prettiest, who get the the best "facial expressions". Actual skills don't really matter.

lets look at some very well known examples then : Son Ye jin, Song Hye Kyo, Bae Suzy, recently Han So Hee

if talking about idols specifically, easily the biggest example is Irene who can murder someone and people will still worship her face

now lets look at what's common among their faces that the average person lacks

to me its clearly two things : Slender angular features and facial harmony

facial harmony is usually a very common trait among people considered attractive anywhere

slender defined features too is a mostly universal standard but of course due to racial differences, its highlighted a bit less than in the west ( Suzy is an exception here )

regardless, the most popular korean visuals DEFINITELY have much more slender defined features than the norm

now lets dissect the examples i mentioned :

Wonyoung : very round face with small features that give her a permanently youthful look

great facial harmony of course

closest classic visual i can think of comparing her to would actually be Eugene from SES

Karina : VERY wide upper face with a non existent jaw ( i know its SM's work ) and a pointy chin

basically korean anya taylor joy

much less facial harmony than the others mentioned

Jennie : very small chubby childlike face but with really mature sexy eyes

i kind of understand why she has so much sex appeal

its all in the eyes

regardless, you definitely cant say she'd be considered a worldwide popular beauty if it were not for kpop

Kazuha : very wide very flat features

completely different from anyone mentioned so far

as you can see, all of them have completely different appearances and appeals, and none of them really look like the "beauty standard" we hear about so often, like the one that irene is usually used to represent

so there HAS to be something else that matters more

as for the other idols I mentioned, Sana Heejin Dia Eunseo and Miyeon all have the very popular slender and defined facial structure and features that are DEFINITELY a staple of "korean standards"

and you cant say they lack facial harmony either, except maybe Eunseo whose face is a bit on the longer side

all the idols you mention are objectively very pretty. Doesn't matter if they look different from each other, they're all considered the or among the prettiest members of their groups. That's it, literally. What people call the It Factor is mostly just a combination of visuals and sex appeal, more heavily on visuals for female idols, more heavily on sex appeal for male idols.
