Cupid is the biggest hit out of all those songs lol why wouldn’t fifty fifty be nominated Don’t forget that they have ties with Warner Bros or sth (don’t ask me exactly how they’re tied I don’t follow them very closely) so it wouldn’t be surprising that their company’s influence played its role

If anything there are some other nominations which make me raise my eyebrows way more lol but i digress

Even if they want to favor Fifty Fifty and I am not sure about that, it's in fact more understandable than not nominating Newjeans but less popular acts than them in the U.S. I guess that it's easier to come for Fifty Fifty, no one is going to defend them at this point.

It's indeed unfair that Newjeans or others HYBE artists like BTS members did not get nominated over some of the nominees. It's not just Jungkook who would have deserved a nomination besides but Jimin Like Crazy too.

In your first OP that I have read early on, you said that they wanted to favor Fifty Fifty by putting low competition against them. Where is the proof ? Nowhere. It says a lot that you thought to this first. It might be the VMAs acting unserious again or some behind the scenes discussions but you went for this explanation first.

With or wihout Newjeans nomination, Cupid has a good chance to win anyways and Blackpink are nominated too. They are serious competition.

You know there's ways to contest the nominees without looking like an arse and being disrespectful to other groups like you are. I don't know nearly enough about SVT but I won't stand them and TXT being belittled. It's a US category and TXT do more than fine there. Are there groups like New Jeans or individuals like the tannies doing even better? Yes but that repeated offense irks me.

This is totally true, they barely play MV anymore.

Is MTV not an American channel anymore? Because evidently charting on Billboard's Hot 100 and selling out American stadiums doesn't mean anything to them. Most of these nominees have done neither of those things. This category is a complete farce.

I know you edited your original post to not drag Fifty Fifty, but out of all the tracks nominated, Cupid is by far the actual hit and the one I'll vote for. I agree with your premise a lot of the list makes no sense compared with the breakout success(es) of NewJeans plus Jimin and Jungkook having #1 hits. It's almost like someone decided "it's light off for BTS this year, but certain acts engaged with our Push program so we are obligated to nominate them instead". And that stuff does happen all the time. It's not about money, it's about handshakes. And yes, it's highly annoying lol.

Literally armys are mad that seven and like crazy is not nominated, even artistry wise people get dumbfounded bts is not nominated for something niche like haegeum for hiphop. But we’re not loud as usual because taehyung came up with wall on new contents and new music in literally 5 minutes.
