How would you rank the top 8 4th gen girl groups now after the recent comebacks?

you should make it top 9 and add 50-50

Aespa is first in my heart and everyone else is equal second.

So much can change in 12 months, even 9 months.

An unknown with very good music can rocket up to 1st place.

1st place can hit a hit brick wall, and get overrun by others still having significant growth.

And it shows that ultimately music matters. If your last song was average, next comeback your growth slows.

This is my ranking overall, including both global and south Korean performance

5. GIDLE (balanced digital and physical sales)

6. ITZY (strong WW presence but flop too hard on K charts and recently underperform on spotify too)

isn’t aespa doing ass in spotify because of lack of playlisting? that’s what i’ve seen from fans asking sm/warner to give aespa playlisting. idk how well they would do but sm/warner should give it a try and see how they do with more playlisting. no idea about apple music

They are under a USA agency like all the other ggs so it's not like others have an edge over them, aespa just perform in Spotify how most sm acts do. One exception u could see was Kai, rover went kinda a tiny bit viral so it charted for some days in Spotify global, smth that's not usual for sm groups

As of now, spicy is 75 in apple music global to lsfrm 30 and Ive 40 so my conclusions come from that ( cupid is 32, seventeen is 52 for consideration) AM charting depend on Japanese charting which both Ive and lsfrm do better, gidle song is still in Spotify global (to my surprise) which probably means their bb global charting will be higher than aespa too

Korea - this is really just a fun debate as the Korean market doesn't matter long term for mega successful acts. e.g. BP and Twice

Globally really is where it is important, and it is hard to judge globally as they haven't all started doing concerts yet, but based on concept and what the global market prefers, skills, and company experience. e.g. you can bribe, smear, cheat in the Korean market but you cant do it at the global level as it costs too much.

We are talking about SM here, doesn't matter they are suck by not investing more in Spotify playlisting and Tiktok algorithm. Tiktok is vital to make a song goes viral however aespa tiktok acc got shadowbanned until now because the admin is a boomer. Aespa got low playlist and shadowbanned by tiktok, what makes you think aespa is at the same playing field with other ggs?in fact aespa is being handicapped

And warner seems to lost interest to pushing aespa after kakaoxSM plans to create separate US agency

Do you know the difference of charting and not charting in Spotify global is only 200-300k? If SMxwarner invest in playlisting & being smart in Tiktok like the others, aespa would charted in longer like others.

With those playlisting, aespa still gotten the lowest playlist reach compare to their peers. At least, they are got the highest streams & ML from all of SM's.

They debuted with absolute shit playlisting of 5mnish reach and even now have just 16mn playlist reach on their latest song, playlist reach peaking barely for a day or so at 20mnish. In comparison, Newjeans, Ive and Lesserafim have all had more nearly 30mn plus playlist reach. Newjeans ofc having almost 120mn playlist reach for some of their songs at its peak.

Honestly, I really really like the music and meaning of IVE and LeSserafim's songs. To be honest, I don't really understand the meaning of NewJean's songs, although I really enjoyed ditto.

Someone said SM groups were dragged for yt views before because they lacked ads and other companies used it, now yt doesn't matter anymore and sm is giving their all there, so it's a old af company lack of sense of trends. If a group west success start being mesured by another stream Service, I'm sure Sm will start investing on spotify playlisting
