2022 Comebacks that had wrong timing or shouldn't have happened

I think in general coming back around the year end award show is a wrong move the awards will outshine the comeback

Unfortunate timing, song was actually my favorite Twice release in a long time.

With Kep1er I wonder if the debut was mistimed or if the song choice was just wrong. IVE went kinda viral in January, same time as they debuted and it had some impact on them for sure.

Honorable mention for IVE who everyone thought were releasing at a horrible time, including me:

Eleven during SMTM/Christmas

Love Dive releasing at arguably the single worst day of the year - same day as BIGBANG

After Like releasing between 2 Blackpink songs and while NewJeans was dominating the charts

They were underestimated.. a bit

Their timing is always off but they manage to win at the end lol.

Checkmate was just unserious and unnecessary. I’m still confused till this day.

cause it came so suddenly after MLD changed the group's name from T1419 to TFN just to make that people stoped listening to the boys's music

MLD really fucked up with this... they debuted one of the most watched rookies of 2021 just to make them one of the least watched artists only 1 year later ... MLD seems to just mess with everyone and everything

Rosé OTG- Wrong timing, wrong TT... they delay and delay and delay killing the hype, plus otg is a good song but not the best song for rosies first solo

Lisa Lalisa- wrong TT... money deserved better, is all that I am saying

Itzy- sneakers- the song is weird and doesn't match the image of the girls, their charisma saved the comeback

Nmixx- O.O and the other song, I don't want to be mean so lets leave at that

december is not a good month for comebacks, awards shows, holiday, year end events, people focus on something else + music shows aren't aired during the second half of december and beside top hits they have to fight christmas songs on charts too

What exactly is wrong with timing of Beautiful Monster?

Mamamoo - same month as kep1er, idle, le sserafim, and dreamcatcher. But does that make the timing of every single group that released a song in Oct. 2022 also wrong? They would also have big groups competition in September or November, or any other montth.

And why do you say Red Velvet and Itzy are wrongly timed, few other big GGs are coming back right now. If it's cause its at the end of the year then what other time should they come back?

So are you saying every single group coming back in December/late November is making a mistake, what other time do you suggest them to come back then?

The cons you mentioned can also be pros if you see them in another light. Because of the holiday season, awards shows, and Gayos, some people are more interested in K-pop during December. There's nothing good about no music show promotions, but I always thought the Gayo Daejuns are kind of a replacement for them anyway.

They might be going against Christmas releases, but the flip side is they also are going against far less other releases. So it could be said to cancel out.

I don't think ITZY's timing was a wholly bad idea, but dropping the MV at the same time as Mama was happening was an odd choice. Maybe it would have been better to do it a bit earlier or a bit later than when Mama was airing.

Hell, my faves P1harmony actually came back on the exact day as ITZY, but they dropped their MV at noon instead of the usual 6pm KST. I feel like FNC was trying to be contentious of everything going on I'm guessing. But I'm not sure.

Newjeans and Le Sserafim will always be competing with each other. Newjeans really should have come out next year.

Originally Born Pink was a spring release & it's perfect honestly but yg delayed it to pair it up with a world tour smh & agreed about rosé solo but I think the plan is moving forward BP albums will now have solo songs like I expect Jennie's unreleased song on the next BP release 😌
