[PSA] Y’all don’t have to force sexualization claims on EVERYTHING

  • Between the AI AESPA concept & Lesserafim’s casting call video

People try waaaaaaaaaaay too hard to force something as being sexual, and then get angry about it

It’s like if there’s even a 1% chance that something can be spun as fanservice, y’all go apeshit

Like relax. Save that for when actual hardcore sexualization exist, and not when…. Modeling videos & avatars exist

Like the conspiracy theories gotta chill at some point

    :facepalm::facepalm:

TLDR: The overt wokeness is gonna ruin the fun of Kpop, especially when it has no basis to go by. Relax!

  • I think in le sserafim's case the complains are valid, I have no idea about the Aespa's case.

It doesn't need to be a cancellation game, the companies being more careful would be enough imo.

if I can remember some people were worried about the A.I thing because they thought that members were gonna sexualize by some people similar to K/DA

//If I can remember of course

"Wow, I am the Only normal one here."

As much as I hate generalization, I begrudgingly agree that this is too rampant at times.

Edit: There are genuine cases too and there are certainly people that need to be called out but some irregulars or haters on akp create bashing threads for pandering to perverts or something.

Edit2: to clear up my first statement and previous statement: I do not mean it has gotten to a point of being a common denominator or even common on akp but yes it has reached past normal limits imo. Mostly from bona fide "evil, watch the world burn" trolls and irregular users.

  • Threads that are responses to other threads are always funny lol

Anyway I reject your psa it’s doing no public service :pepe-tea:

  • This music video was sickening

Lessafiern (however you spell it) reminds me of Destiny Child’s debut era.

  • Response thread or not. I will still stand for what I said.

People get uncomfortable way too easily wtf because two teenagers were doing girls pretty things I still don’t get it. ?????

The concept was mature and Garam’s dress a a little bit too short I agree but it’s not definitely not sexual at all.

People know damn well LSRF demographic is women oriented and you got some people saying they’re targeted male gaze.

The music is out and people are already jumping on conclusions the same thing they did with aespa ai concept :pepewhat:

That felt like a horror movie...

    The atmosphere is so uncomfortable.

  • idk whats goin on with le sserafim

but people didnt liked the digital ver of aespa?? I mean what was wrong with it?

If i remember correctly people were worried that disgusting people were going to make dirty images or videos using the AI members and how it could mentally affect the real members of aespa since they were based of them like there supposedly is dirty images of KDA characters from league of legends

  • If i remember correctly people were worried that disgusting people were going to make dirty images or videos using the AI members and how it could mentally affect the real members of aespa since they were based of them like there supposedly is dirty images of KDA characters from league of legends

Oh I understand now, but I never heard about this one I remember people upset thinking the virtual members would be "in the place" of the real so idk it was all confusing before debut lol

    thanks for explaining

  • I think Western fans are gonna be far more blasé cause let's face it I just watched Chloe Bailey's new MV and hoo boy.

I can see why people would feel they're sexualised but I also think it's because their concept of high fashion/modelling is inherently sexualised. I don't have a problem if it's Sakura, Chaewon, Yunjin cause I think they can say no if they want, but they need to be careful with the younger ones. The introduction videos at least were very age appropriate, so hopefully they'll keep it in mind.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the Casting Call video because it portrays exactly what it says it does, a casting call for models, but I also think they need to be careful not to cross a line especially with the minors. But I don't want to see anyone else flinging around the word casting couch bc there's absolutely nothing in the video that suggests that. :cursing:

  • Hmmm personally "hardcore" sexualisation or not, it's still sexualisation

i don't even know why we're having this discussion, when it should be the most normal thing for company to give their minor outfit according to their age, and be treated according to their age

people who are voicing their concern should not be criticize, because if nobody voice their concern the agency might do the same thing again and again in the futur

and i don't understand why some people are acting like kpop agency never intentionnally do this type of things, looks at the way JYP was call out multiple time everytime they debut a new GG for sexualizing their minors, how Tri.be company was call out a lot of time for sexualizing Mirae etc...

  • Oh I understand now, but I never heard about this one I remember people upset thinking the virtual members would be "in the place" of the real so idk it was all confusing before debut lol

    thanks for explaining

It died down after SM threatened legal repercussions against anyone who misuses the avatars for nefarious reasons.

  • Trauma inducing tbh can we make this a women's only space please no more men + perma pink background and we can only talk about makeup

You are only saying this because you didn't witness that one male user here tell a bunch of girls complaining about misogyny that they didn't know what real misogyny was, before proceeding to mansplain it to us clueless women. It was enlightening :pleading:

  • btw comparing the sexualization claim of Aespa and Lesserafim was not a very smart move

Aespa AE claim of sexualization came from kpop fans who twisted SM statement about Aespa concept and start to voice concern about what people might do with the AE in the futur, but SM themselves never sexualize the AE members or Aespa members

in the case of lesserafim, the sexualization doesn't come from the fans twisting things, but from their own agency sexualizing them in the way they dress their minor and film this teaser

so i don't think aespa and Lesserafim sexualization claim are very comparable

  • I did not made a general statement towards adult or adult male who love kpop

But adult males here in akp

There is only a handful of adult male here and half of them at some point or another exhibited questionable behavior

It's actually far from their behavior in kpop and more on every other topic

Examples: predatory behaviors towar underage users, mensplaining period and pregnancy to female users, going ham on female users who want to be childfree and trying to convince them motherhood is beautiful.

Don't even get me started on our famous teshub and drew and their takes.

Like kpop all you want, no one is stopping you

Don't tell women how they should feel about women issues. Is that too much to ask?

not to mention what they wear when they go outside, for a date, or to dance party :)
