Let's see if SME's definition of a "strong" Trap beat is still up to code. Red Velvet has some masterfully good beats in their catalog (i.e. "Dumb Dumb", "Don't You Wait No More", "One of These Nights (De Capo Version)", "Bad Boy", etc.).

People's definition of experimental def. varies. I think as long as the foundational elements of the song are strong, even truly experiementially different or weird songs can actually hit right. This clip hits decent on a foundational level.
I believe the sample/interpolation in the clip is built around Mozart's "Piano Sonata No. 11" instead of Bach's "Air On G". I've heard "Piano Sonata No. 11" played a lot more than "Air On G".

I agree. The way they incorporate it works so well. Also, the vocal rhythmic gymnastics that they were doing in "Dont You Wait No More"over that beat... ahhhhhh it still slaps to this very day!
im gonna wait to hear the demo after the official track gets releases so I can compare/constant, but I'm already moved a bit by Bach's + SM's music box version in the Calmato teasers

I checked air on the g string and I recognized the melody, i'm curious to see how it will be incorporated in the song. On the other hand SM strong/trap beat could go one way or the other, but red velvet vocals can rarely disappoint and this time, there's no reason (?) to be scared of lyrics lol so I'm pumped
