Who's more talented? NewJeans or Aespa

I guess they’re some what equally matched. Aespa imo is the weakest of the SM GG’s talent wise and new jeans is the strongest of HYBE GG’s talent wise that makes them about even over all.

I'd say NewJeans.

AESPA might have vocals and they did improve in dancing and stage presence but only Karina stands out the most in those areas (Ningning is second in line, though).

Meanwhile NewJeans don't have vocals on the level of AESPA but they still have pretty good vocals and plus all HYBE artists are strong dancers and performers so nothing more needs to be said.

Neither groups are very strong rappers (they also don't rap much) hence I'm factoring that out.

NewJeans-

• Vocals: 8/10
• Dance: 9/10
• Stage Presence: 10/10
• Rap: 4/10

AESPA-

• Vocals: 10/10
• Dance: 7.5/10 and rising
• Stage Presence: 7/10
• Rap: 6/10

Vocally Aespa are blessed and performance wise New Jeans although I do think Aespa have interesting performances if the camera work is good so I'll give it to Aespa.

I'm picking NewJeans simply because, unlike aespa, they don't lipsync 95% of their stages.

It's the most bizarre situation to me. aespa can clearly sing but they almost never do.

I'm going to see them next year and I'm legitimately concerned I'll hear minimal live vocals.

I already saw NewJeans at Lollapalooza last year, and they actually ditched most of their choreography for the first half of the set so they could focus on singing and engaging with the crowd.

I’m going to be extremely objective and raw talent? Definitely Aespa. They have two powerhouse vocalists and i actually think Giselle is a really good rapper wheN ITS IN her range of rap skills.

I even think every person in Aespa is a goo dancer, even with Giselle being weaker she’s still killing like 75% of kpop.

Applied talent? NewJeans no question. Almost solely because of management it seems NewJeans are fostered and encouraged a little more

I voted Aespa bc their vocals are amazing even though they don't showcase it that much live wise, but for this I blame sme. NewJeans are good vocalists and I enjoy watching their performances.

I would say Aespa is a 8.5 while NewJeans is a 8.

imo its Katseye...they are the strongest hybe girlgroup in terms of full package.

i think they're all avg except ningning's vocals

Giselle also is a very good producer/composer, definitely better than NJs members in that department

isn't it obvious that is Aespa though? they are better vocalists and they aren't bad performers either at least they have gotten better.

Aespa are better vocalists, rappers and dancers than NJ but they fail at giving consistent energy something NJ can deliver! But talent wise aespa takes this imo

I wonder why akp thinks aespa lacks in stage presence? To me they are among the best. Very lovely on stage and you will not get bored watching each Individual fancam, lipsync is shown in all of the industry but if you chevk their concerts they sing live pretty often and are amazing at it.

Individually, aespa members are stronger in vocal and dance however NJ talents are evenly distributed among the members so no member seems lacking which is a very good thing when on stage and an advantage to them!

It's much rarer to see big progress in vocals after debut then dancing, so I'd say it's aespa practically speaking.

aespa since their vocals are better and it's the most important skill to me but quite frankly, both groups are great.

I always knew people didn’t consider new jeans talented but only overall averagely good at everything but this was some interesting results because I thought it would be even since I would generally say Aespa is also about the same

I would say Aespa because Karina is such a powerhouse and the rest are pretty excellent. I would say Danielle could be the same in New Jeans but it’s a wait and see what their direction is in 2025

Since Better Things and Drama, Aespa's performance skills sky rocketed. NJ have no vocalists on Ningning, Winter and Karina's level. And Aespa are stronger dancers. There's no competition here!.

I know it's challenging to express your subjective opinion without being insufferable and insulting people who hold a different opinion, but you should really give it a try sometimes.

I know talent in K-Pop better than anyone here, as a decade long Mamamoo fan.

I've seen nothing to prove aespa is superior in any category but vocals, which they almost never use anyway due to all the lipsync.

I've never thought they were better dancers, and a good SM rapper doesn't exist, ESPECIALLY in their girl groups. And visuals is literally the most subjective category of all and has NOTHING to do with talent.

If anyone here is delusional, it's you.

I recommend people simply give their opinions without insulting NewJeans or the people who voted for them. December is almost done, and I'm not going to be as nice in January.

I have a distaste for commenting on talent in general, but I think the comparison is interesting.

Clearly aespa is winning the poll. I didn't have to look at it to know that, and I do think that individually, aespa members all stand out skills-wise. But that makes sense perfect sense. Both aespa and the artists formerly known as NewJeans accomplish their polar opposite concepts perfectly. Conceptually, aespa is supposed to be badasses from another world with superpowers and AI counterparts. You watch/listen them, and you are stimulated in a maximalist way.

But the NewJeans concept is minimal and clean, creating a vibe and an cohesive image with no member standing out. It would be inappropriate if they did. Of course, then, they have a different style of presentation and therefore training. People tend to focus too much on talent, when training and dedication have far greater of an impact.

Both accomplish their goal, and therefore I think both are equally impressive.
