First off, Gallup only polls 4-5k people, in three different months so whatever and whoever is the top song/artist in July/Sep/Nov have an advantage. That's probably the reason why SS is SOTY and Hwasa is so high up cuz ILMB was released in September.

Gallup is a relevant survey but people should only take the top 10 seriously. Cuz others get like 100 votes and that's nothing.

People take this shit too seriously why? Because y'all dont live in Korea you dont see who is actually popular here on a day to day basis. So what do you have to go off on? These polls.

Now of course Twice has fallen in popularity in Korea since their prime that cant be denied. But people of course know about twice though I would argue that younger kids probably dont know as much these days but honestly young kids dont really care about kpop until like elementary school or middle school. But anyway Twice is fine in Korea but their new song just arent a hit here. I still hear their old songs regularly out in public.

But the path for it is a bit counterintuitive. Twice will need to go on hiatus and become sort of a legacy act

Korea is the most trend following place in history and people still take these polls like they aren’t what they are. A snapshot of the moment they were taken. Instead people like to extrapolate some huge point from them greater than what they are. It’s expected from Kpop fans but still funny every time

Blackpink is the pride of Korea... and now the role model for the younger generation, so I'm not surprised if they made the list without releasing a song this year.
