It has been super obvious that their previous hype was fake and bought by kakao. Once you see kakao selling off starshit's shares the facade is over and we all now know that IVE has been a fraud and was always a fraud.
They probably had some inside relations as well to win those awards at MAMA last year but now that they lost money from their flop achievements they are now on the road of bankruptcy not being able to buy the views the streams the everything that they once had. They literally wasted Sistar's 7 years of money and hard work for nothing on these girlies.
We now see as clear as day that Wontbowyoung and her friends have always been flops.

IVE and TXT are fine, both had very successful comebacks earlier this year.
I'd say the blame is more on their roll out and poor choice of tracks. For the same era, both groups released 3 back to back singles and any of them were as well accepted as their previous releases. So It probably affected their eras' hype as a whole.
It doesn't mean it will reflect on their next eras, tho.
I've said it before and I'll reiterate it again
there are many definitions of the word "flop" as it relates to charting
1. to not chart at all - fairly obvious that if one fails to enter the charts at all then it's a flop
2. to not chart as well as previous songs - this is fairly understandable that if a group had a PAK for one song but the next song only made it (let's say to the top 20) then one might argue that since the song didn't do as well as previously then it's a flop
3. to not chart as well compared to their peers - the question who one's peers are is important since charting is by it's very definition about who one is higher or lower than...some people will say if x charted worse than y then x is a flop
4. to not chart as well as expectations (this is the most subjective) - here a group flops because there is an expectation that certain groups will perform well whether based on prior success or company reputation...this generally applies to the larger or more popular groups - ie. if IU failed to chart (maybe) in the top 5 then one might argue that because of IU's prior successes then her level of expectations is much higher than a lesser known artist or group...
here in IVE's case one might argue that it's number 2 - they have charted worse than their previous song and thus some people might claim it's a flop

and they have 4 songs in Melon TOP 20
there is really nothing to complain
pretty sure that if they wouldn't release 3 songs in such short amount of time and just 2 then the charting of those would be even higher because people wouldn't 'split' their streams/UL's so much

It's like 2nd/3rd gen again. Aoa debuted in 2012 like Exo, but while exo is 3rd gen, aoa is 2nd gen. We had a new gen for ggs in 2014, maybe the 5th gen will start for ggs in 2024 or 2025.
The generational shift isn't happening, and TXT and IVE are doing fine. They both sold over a million albums, maybe people are listening to those instead of streaming? I really couldn't tell you why they're both getting worse streaming numbers than expected, but sometimes that's just how the cookie crumbles.

i have no data to back up this theory but to me they are in the same place as le sserafim. super hyped group running on a couple of super successful songs/comebacks that end up releasing music that feels so out of place and awkward, making the group seem suddenly disappointing.
idk if you can restart the momentum cause i’m new to this but the b-sides are still good. the ive magic is still there. if baddie and unforgiven had not been the TTs the groups would’ve been less fragile in the minds of the public. even if ive is doing good rn with either way and le sserafim had epbw, the lack of momentum puts them at a slight disadvantage going into future comebacks
