Their last scheduled activity that i know of is the finale concert in LA on Aug 26. Nothing after that.

We might not find out until Aug 31 what their status is.

I mean, I'd get it if Lisa didn't renew.

From what I have heard, YG rejected a lot of opportunities for her. Plus, with BP's long hiatuses, they aren't really able to express themselves musically. Something that Jennie has been talking about.

Each one of them has a strong fanbase and can be successful with or without YG. I just hope that if Lisa does not renew and continues to perform, I hope she signs with an agency that will do her justice.

Ugh I’m gonna miss them so much but I want them to do what is best for them. Even if that means going their separate ways

Btw, have any other top groups had their renewal news delayed like this? Based on what I remember, weren’t we made aware of BTS’s and Twice’s status before their debut anniversary?

I'm torn. Their last album was the most consistent Kpop album i've ever listened to, not a single blop or flop on it, and I listen to Ready For Love and Tally obsessively.

OTOH, there is great music everywhere in Kpop, two elite songs just dropped a couple weeks ago (I DO and I WANT by Idle and Ive) so BP doesnt hold the monopoly on that by any means. And with no fanservice to speak of, there is little emotional investment in the group remaining. They feel like a group winding down, even though they still remain digitally relevant in Korea.

Ultimately i guess they should do whatever makes them happy. I kinda want to see one or more of the members working under MHJ tbh .

Reason u haven't heard anything official is cause they made an agreement to not announce anything till the tour wraps up

After Seoul encore, the TBL transfer will be made official

they are at their peakest of peaks touring wise they are smashing records even rivalling those of any artist's (western) their next album if permitted can even do 5m pre-orders. and sell more than that.

I've never seen Lisa update her IG so much... I'm hoping she is happy with whatever decision she has taken but yes I would love BP to continue in any shape or form plus all girls getting the best contracts...

The all stadium tour will pull minimum of half a BILLION dollars

I think even if they don't renew with YG or even at the same company that they will always be BP

the brand BP is worth so much

I still think they will renew just they are fighting right now. I think the girls will win the fight as they have all the leverage. Maybe this is wishful thinking but it would be hard to imagine Kpop without Blackpink in it.

I still don't get how people believe that they won't, they are extremely profitable it wouldn't make sense for them to disband . also, it's obvious reporters would use any renewal contract rumor just to for clickbaits.

former yg artists never had those problems. psy, CL, ikon all kept their names, songs, social media, yt channel etc.

ikon and psy have mutual agreements before they left YG that is why they can keep their accounts and name.

For CL, she created new youtube account and everytime she uses 2ne1's songs in concerts, etc. she or the producers have to pay the royalties.

Even if they don't renew they'll still be Blackpink. The group is too big to leave behind.
