What is the best generation of Kpop? (so far)

2nd gen and it's not debatable.

4th gen

3rd

It's just too iconic and memorable

2nd Gen. It's simply the best.

3rd

Best : 3rd

Mid : 4th

Trash : 2nd

3rd gen, at least the early parts of it.

1.) Most the music still sounds like kpop, before westernization happened to most the sounds in the later half.

2.) They were part of infancy of kpop going into the west so we got a bunch of interesting achievements, rewards, collabs, etc.

3.) Idols still did idol things.

3rd generation has Red Velvet, Mamamoo, Twice, Dreamcatcher, Gfriend, Oh my Girl, Lovelyz, Sonamoo, Spica, IOI, WJSN, Pristin and Gugudan.

2nd gen. It was more balanced, fun and diverse in concepts

5th gen by far

In terms of personal favorites and music, 3rd. In terms of enjoyment and sanity sake as a fan, 2nd since the wokeness, cancel culture, sns, etc wasn't as severe.

3rd, from 2015 to 2018 was the best time in K-pop, esp for GG Stan's.

Twice, Gfriend, BP, Mamamoo, DIA, WJSN, Pristin, RV, Lovelys, etc.

Many 2nd gen idols were literally cancelled for ""scandals"", some of them really mild. It would never happen nowadays

it's hard to decide between 3rd and 2nd

7 gen they create bangers and appeal not only to earth but the outer galaxy as well

I like all gens but 2nd had clearly the best vocals, the best hits and the best groups. If I say TVXQ, SHINee, Infinite, Kara, 9muses, F(x) etc It's clear that none generation come closer

Objectively the 3rd gen

3rd gen is iconic, and it had BTS. They changed the trajectory of kpop. That is enough for me to say that it will be most memorable in the long run. Also include, BP, Twice, and EXO. These groups changed the kpop sphere to some extent as well.

In terms of music, bg for 3rd gen. And Gg for 4th gen.

Don’t care about gens but 2009-2013 was legendary. You had to be there

But musically, it’s 2013-2018.

My personal fav is gen 4 ONLY because i've been into kpop since 2018 so 2nd gen I def didn't experience and 3rd gen i didn't experience fully

4th Gen is going to be limited because other than Fifty Fifty, who will probably leave Korea after this mess is over, every major act of it had paid a filial duty to a 2nd Generation Singer who wants them fail.

2nd gen since I like the focus in vocals, the lives were really raw back then too, and I just liked the groups and idols more.

Since I got into K-Pop during the 3rd gen stronghold I’m a little biased. But even looking at it more objectively, I think 3rd gen’s longevity, impact, and both global and domestic success makes them stand out. So much of 3rd gen’s music I find highly enjoyable and it’s really helped drive K-Pop forward.

I also quite like 4th gen, but mostly the GGs. I’m not as invested in 4th gen BGs, although a lot of them have bangers.

Second gen and always will be. Better groups and songs, that's it!

if we talk about the whole gen (how many groups out there offered something nice) then it's definitely
the 2nd one . it had so many bops

if we talk about the gen of my bias group (BTS) then it's 3rd

but again, 2nd one is unrivaled.
