For the record, I don’t think this is PR shit at all. RM is constantly sharing his song recs on IG and this is the first time he’s shown newjeans or le sserafim. I think he genuinely just loves music.

What we've been knew is that non-fans keep an eye out for EVERYTHING BTS does while stating they don't care about them. I for one have a strong disdain for this Hybe family agenda and it wish to see it burned with fire. There is hope we can get a third cleansing of ARMY-only fans after the world cup. I'll put all my eggs in that basket for peace restored and Hybe losing the upper hand.

it’s really weird lol it’s not like bts stans started stanning lesserafim and nj before they even released any info about the members or the groups, let alone debuted. people and specifically a number of bts stans only started liking them after both groups released good catchy songs and the members are charming and likable, which is literally the most legit reason there can be to like any kpop group. they came, they delivered, so people like them, simple as that. there’s no sinister master plan here. op is acting like bts stans were simping for them from when they still knew nothing about lesserafim and nj like what some other company stans did to the new debuts in their company of choice in recent years lol it’s truly baffling. this thread is literally nonsensical

Does feel like a PR move considering that all the junior groups posted the tiktok challenge at the same time and BTS TikTok account (which wasn't that active before) liked LSFM's tiktok out of nowhere on the same day. Not to mention RM suddenly recommending LSFM and NewJeans songs even though they were released a long time ago.

the point is you're almost insinuating that lsrf and newjeans are not popular thanks to their own merit. i also put "hybe master plan" in quotations for a reason. YOU are the one acting like it is some master plan. you literally said "it's no secret that HYBE is trying to convert armys to company stan". like, it barely even makes sense because theoretically lsrf and newjeans have different target demographics. lsrf apparently has more male fans than any other 4th gen gg. if you are going to make this case at least use the other hybe bgs.

like yeah, most companies want to retain fans but they also want to reach fans that are not already fans and expand their market, which imo has always seemed more hybe's approach.

That's not what i said. What I'm saying and what I'm trying to explain is that company stans (regardless of the company) disrupt the industry because they will automatically focus on the groups of the company they follow. In fact we will never know if a group is really popular thanks to the talent of its members or their music or because they come from the right company.

A group like BTS that starts from nothing, it's easy to know since they had nothing at the start and they have to won every of their fans.

But when a group starts with financial privileges and/or in a company with great financial power and contacts in the industry it helps to have a very good start and to quickly become popular or at least maximize the chances of becoming so. But how do you know if he could have succeeded without all that? We will never be.

It's like we're racing the 100m together but I start with 60m in advance. If you win the race no doubt you're faster than me, but if I win it. How can we really be sure that i'm faster than you?

Do you see where I'm coming from and what are the issues it really raises in an artistic industry?

im sorry but this hardly even applies to lesserafim because they got a head start for reasons outside of "hybe privilege". they literally started with 3 well known members, 2 of whom were at top popularity in izone which was a huge group. and they are also in the worst hybe label with the worst reputation (besides pledis). i think the issue people are having here is that this is just... such a weird tangent to go on about lsrf and newjeans specifically just for doing a tiktok challenge to a bts song. yes, they surely ended the kpop industry with something that was not even an actual interaction.
