Very tricky question. I think the odds are slim, but better for Aespa than for any other GG that i see out there right now.
BP is so unique though, they dont move like a Kpop group with 3/4 of them being foreigners or having good English skills. When they did their music shows last year, they literally gave off vibes like they were a special guest group from another country, it was so weird to see them acting like your standard Kpop group.
We know that Aespa appeals to Korea and China, but can they capture the same interest in Japan, SEA, and the West?

No bc that 2nd paragraph is so true.
It’s amazing how they built their image from being a k-gg to international GG that basically makes their stages on Korea look like a guesting. Everything changed after that Dua Lips collab for me atleast
They won't reach the Beatles international status for sure.
Think about Twice, how many top artists sing about Love like Blackpink. And how many top artists sing about black mamba, kwangay and naevis pop? Odds are pretty slim, like we know baby shark is the most viewed Youtube video so everything is possible.
it was the other way around there has many girl group that were compared to bp and how bp would soon be over this keeps happening since 2019 lol
The big difference as I see it was that YGE pushed BP hard and launched them as an obvious nr1 group and also had the help of the legacy from 2NE1. Sure SME also promoted Aespa hard, but still feels it's not at the same level as with YGE and BP. The position and popularity the groups get's the first 1-2 year is important for the future possibilty to reach success, even if you can have some later bloomers such as Oh My Girl.
To me it's no queastion that BP had a much stronger debut and first year with stronger songs than Aespa. I think it will be hard for Aespa to catch up and reach the same level as BP, even if nothing is impossible. Not many groups reach the levels and status such as Girls' Generation, 2NE1, Twice and BP.
BPink was successful at debut sis, and they got bigger internationally when BTS made kpop’s relevancy blow up in the west and BPink was able to gain more attention than they already had
I ain’t discussing the internal factors but the outcomes
They will not reach it but they will reach bp chinese fans that’s more terrifying

The first paragraph is already a lie
YG never push bp until 2020 after burning sun fiasco. Bp got their first physical album 2 years into their career, have 3 hiatus longer than 9 months 2 going longer than 1 year in their 3rd and 4th year when gg of their gen were having 3 combs a year
Just bc they seem untouchable now it doesn't mean YG has ever try the most with them bc if all you new kpops stans seem to think that, u are very wrong as someone that Stan BP since debut
YG put bp thru all the obstacles to lose fandom, lose gp interest, lose footing after every successful cmb they had to the point blinks have to send trucks to demand cmb (yes, kpop fans have to thank blinks for that)
Okay but they aren’t even mainstream yet so
Okay but they aren’t even mainstream yet so
I mean in relation to rnb yes. In relation to k-pop, they are more mainstream
