Brave Girls unexpected rise to fame was one good start.
Everything seems so predict the at the moment, SM‘s attempts to be innovative ain’t doing much either....

But, yes, the competition is pretty much stale. More of the same. The big are doing big; the small are doing small.
I actually disagree. For a person who doesn’t normally like the modern stuff, I’m really liking Next Level and Butter and think it’s good SM have a new gg to rival BP and some of the others.
Personally i'd love if stories were explained through actual story mediums like webtoons, video shorts, etc. Having to read through universes from the bottom of footnotes or guess based on elements of MV's or through verbally explained descriptions is rather straining and requires a lot of rereading to figure out.

I think BTS is hard to beat for BG. But for GGs, the competition is fierce. Charting wise, Brave Girls and OMG are giving BP a run for their money. Album wise, there’s still Twice with the overall record but BP might snatch them if they release more albums. Even aespa is coming for GG rookie records. That is kinda exciting.

Idk music wise I think there are some pretty great groups if you look past the usual big agencies.
If you’re talking solely about charts, personally I don’t really care that much about them and I’ll never understand people who are so chart obsessed but each to their own 🤷♀️ That said, I do find Stayc’s fast rise to stardom very interesting and I think they’ll be an absolute force soon enough.
