I think i kinda agree that they look expensive and that next level is swaggy and flowy. But imo, it’s just that both these girls execute it differently. So i don’t see it. This is kinda like 2ne1 executed “hip” differently than bp and same with aespa.
Tldr; i voted for no lol.

Aespa is coming into their own sound, which to me reminds me nothing of BP. Teddy would never produce anything like Next Level, and with SMs love for experimentation, I think we're only going to drift farther from this narrative.

Agreed. Aside from the music, the AI and science fiction stuff is just creating a different aesthetic. That kind of stuff wouldn't work for BP. And now when I think of Aespa, I actually think of the movie Avatar, whether that was intentional or not. Hehe. So I just don't get the claims of similarities. Maybe when it comes to some of their CF deals. But BP just overshadows any group when it comes to luxury branding.

Songwise, I think the original parts in Next Level is something that Blackpink might do. But that's it. Other than that, it's definitely unique to aespa.

aespa is expensive and fierce but i dont find the chic "all the boys want us" vibe
they are closer to gidle or 2ne1 imo
also aespa has not had nearly as much time as bp to cement an identity

- Giselle - black hair with red highlights in some scenes
Giselle and Karina both have similar hair for Next Level and they're both rappers so it can be a bit tough, but generally Giselle looks a bit shorter than Karina and has a rounder face shape.
It's a bit easier to learn their faces in Black Mamba cause they're in a distinctive place.

Yeah, outside of SM singing more "open", I think JYPE might have more songs with "pocket drumming (or beats)" that's more associated with R&B sub-genres that borrow from Jazz like "Neo-Soul", Funk, and Go-Go. It also creates a subconscious association in my mind:
