5th gen bgs have been rather lackluster so far apart from nct wish and riize. hopefully jyp's new bg brings something good to the table

Most of the NJs' haters do not hate them for their actions against HYBE but instead their affiliation with MHJ.

Not many girl groups would've fared much better than LSF with a literal zero backtrack fully live Coachella performance doing their full choreo.

LSF's coachella performance was never that bad.
I actually watched the full Day 1 one performance and apart from some unstable notes here and there (due to wind and choreo), there was only one part where they truly fumbled and that was the Fire In The Belly high note.
And honestly, that fumble is understandable because it was like 23 minutes into their performance.
But of course haters never watched the full perf. They only took the same clip from tiktok and ran with it in time for the hate train.
The fact NJ has the world's best contract and makes everyone else look like a 🤡 🤡 🤡 clown. Because they were able to just nullify a contract and keep working without having to go to court and all the jazz. Hopefully they set an example for idols in the future because before their situation 99% of idols had to fight serious stressful long Court cases even when their cases were10× more severe with literal beatings and sa etc. I'm surprised how today's kpop isn't as dark as the past as you can just say nope to a company and walk away without consequences, it still surprises me how easy that was

I mean it wouldn't matter because they would've been criticized either way.
Week 1, they performed fully live. Their vocals were like less than 10% "bad," and people started attacking them saying they weren't ready for coachella, blah blah blah, and deeming them "untalented" based off of the same clip that was circulating.
Week 2, they performed with some backtrack (not that much cuz you could still hear their voices distinctly) and they were criticized for "not singing live," people were saying "backtrack ate," etc 
And then they started comparing LSF to BP, AESPA, and even ATEEZ's coachella performance saying those performances were "way better" than LSF's even though 1. AESPA's choreos weren't even that hard. 2. BP had a break, and 3. ATEEZ's songs don't even showcase much vocals apart from Jongho's parts.
I'm not trying to demean these other groups but just pointing that out.
Point is, people were already on the look out for a reason to hate on LSF. That chance came and they took it without hesitation, hence the massive hate train they faced.
1) After all these years, ITZY finally released an actual song - Imaginary Friend - and it was one of the year's best. I'm still astounded. 
2) ARTMS released the first K-Pop album in which all every single song was listenable since the second generation ended.
3) MADEIN looked great then smacked into the brick wall of bad management, but RESCENE was a pleasant surprise and has a bright future.

All the 5th gen boy groups kind of blend together and seem indistinguishable from each other. They're not nearly as diverse as the top girl groups of 4th and 5th gen.
Probably because this is unheard of before something like their case hasn't happened and when it did it did not have favorable results. This is the first time something like this went so smoothly and without a big legal fight

The legal system is very complicated and the fact that ADOR is suing NewJeans for their unilateral termination shows that ADOR is willing to work their way out of a loss. ADOR aside, HYBE will try to drag this out as long as possible cuz this could've very easily been solved from Day 1, but ofc not.
No doubt there will much more public stunts and useless statements put out in the ensuing months that just add to the complete bullshit that is this dispute.
After years of mostly alignment or convergence, we are now seeing a divergence again of kpop along Korean Listeners (and Asian listeners) compared to International Listeners.
I predict next year we'll have even more separation of groups that go successful in Korea Charts (melon) vs "International Charts" (the joke that is spotify, but it's still the best we have despite it's payola metrics).
There's been Supernova, and APT, but apart from those 2 huge crossovers, more and more of the Korean top has been Korean oriented "fresh" songs like Happy, T.B.H and Fate, while the plethora of groups like Babymonster, Badvillain, Meovv in the international space to me suggests a fragmenting of listening bases.
So yeah, my hot take for next year is Korean Top Groups and International Top groups may be almost entirely "separate".

I fully admit that Day6 isn't the biggest internationally, but boy were day a menace in SK they are walloping the other BGs there hard like literally x2 the annual charting points vs the 2nd biggest BG
