The way some kpop fans use their mind to make everyone number1 except BB is a reach that nobody understands. Then tell me boy group with more known and popular songs than BB please, bc since 2007 with their actives years they always had a hit song with gp EATING AND BREATHING their music!

Lies, last farewell, haru haru, Bad Boy, Monster, Fantastic Baby, then a whole hiatus with all the members releasing successful solos works, they came back in 2015 with 8 songs i topping every chart in 4 months and in 2016 their cb was also successful too, within all these cb they always delivering hits, so tell me a boy group who when cb releases music that go 1° in music charts for so many years!

If we refer to myaza’s quantitative charts, BB is bigger than all BGs that are not BTS. They even surpass BTS in Korean digital sales. They were huge. Definitely number 1 BG back then.

Quantitative ranking of kpop groups tiers. I included most of big 2nd gen to 4th gen groups (the ones who have sold 1+ million, have any KMAs or are in top 20 Korean artists on Spotify).

The ranking is based on equally weighted physicals and digitals (50% Korean, 50% Youtube+Spotify).

Tiers are based on clustering of final ranking index.

It's not debatable. BigBang was the #1 from 2007 to 2017. There is not a single boy group that outcharted BigBang during 2007-2017.

Nowadays as just 5,6 groups charts in s.k. charts Bc overall BB was still the most popular ww based in their TOURS... Anyways, to me TVXQ/BB/SJ they are the most popular ones with great stability since these days! But BB had the super hand in s.k. with the gp by their side. They within these 3 were the most consistent in having a super known song within every cb.

Congrats to Baekhyn! He deserves it! But if you go just by the physical metric it's hypocrite as this means just a part of what makes a successful group. Physicals are not everything. And they for sure doesn't make your music known.

And this whole album sales push is contradictory when GD still has the most successful tour ww by a k soloist. BB had the most successful and attended ww tour by groups, just BTS surpassed them.

Bigbang was the only act that could challenge IU in terms of song charting. The number one boy group in Korea and it's not even close. 18 number one songs and 51 weeks total atop the charts.

Big Bang have hiatus often and that's why people name other groups. However, certainly, Bigbang is no.1 in years they actually had comebacks 2008, 2012, 2015

2PM was only a top group in Heartbeat era, other than that, they didn't dominate in the years like you mentioned. They were popular but not at first.
