Has BLACKPINK surpassed Girls' Generation as the top girl group of all time?

Girls generation has been way too overrated anyways

Even though I voted for Blackpink, I still feel like what SNSD achieved in their career is amazing too. They became super big without the era of social media, so I still think they hold a spot at the top. As for Twice, I mean even onces know their no longer a top group, they were once a top group, but Blackpink beat them a long time ago.

Allkpop staff themselves making these rage bait, problematic and controversial posts to get clicks but im the bad guy if i do so

SNSD was a tad overrated tbh. I feel like they moved more like a boy group, selling lots of albums but only one true national hit, Gee. The members havent done much since, Yoona for acting and Taeyeon for music, but the other 7 seemed to have faded away fast. Like when folks talk about Yuri these days, it's all about mah girl Jo Yuri who is traveling in IU's path as we speak.

SNSD is probably one of the most overrated groups when it comes to success. I said what I said.

There’s no denying they’re one of the biggest K-pop groups of all the time. BP has a better longevity and impact than them, Twice only declined in Korea, besides that they’re like ? Bigger in every metrics.

That happened long back.

BP is objectively one of the biggest girl groups of all times. Not just in kpop or korea.

I said in term of success. I’m sure discussions about them being the top GG of their generation were completely different years ago.

For exemple When a song like forever is performing as fine as Alcohol Free/M&M guess which groups get dragged for not meeting the exceptions…lol considering one cb every year.

Its still too early to compare Blackpink with SNSD. We need to wait a few more years to see how each Blackpink member does individually and as a group before we can officially give them the crown.

The main reason for this is due to the limited no. of songs Blackpink has released compared to SNSD.

Can't give them the crown as the best of all time with only 40 songs released.

I mean there are not many groups that can boast to have a better vocal line that SNSD has/had (five strong singers by industry standards). All you have to do is find some performance (radio, live band or ballad) where there's minimal backtrack. I think that's what the commenters are referring too.

As for the rest your reply well yeah, that's how K-pop (and most of pop music) works. You get recognize first by a combination of songs, charismatic personalities, vocal tones and singing skills. Singing skills being the least important usually.
