What group got you into Kpop?

Blackpink and it's still my ult group

BTS was the group that introduced me to kpop. I still listen to my favorite songs by them but they are no longer my ult group.

Blackpink. Still my ult but my interest in Twice kind of overshadows them.

It was actually K/DA that got me interested but Blackpink that got me hooked.

I was literally playing Beat Saber and K/DA POP/STARS got added to the a game for free and it was just when Beat Saber started doing song collaborations. I fell and love and added to my song playlist...it just went downhill from there.

I never stanned them and still don't. I don't even think I knew what stanning a group meant at the time.

Around December at that time, I found a funny Aespa clip and then start to devour all their contents and songs.

After that, I found IVE on twitter.

then My youtube recommending me Yena's content, and from there I fell into a rabbit hole named IZ*ONE.

from there I explore groups like Dreamcatcher, WJSN, Lovelyz, etc.

Till I stumbled upon Billlie with their lore and their upcoming project, Patbingsu, at that time.

Then, at some point, there are a post here on AKP talking about CSR, and just like their name, I fell in love with their debut song.

So my taste aren't changing and more like growing since I explore others

I don't even remember. I just remember watching a lot of anime and jpop for years, then some live action korean remakes, I used to be a member on Tokyohive back then and wondered what the link to Allkpop even was, lmao.

Then I remember some korean dramas, Rain, FT Island, Boa japanese performances, TVXQ five member japanese concert and maybe Shinee Juliette japanese version. I used to like Shinee for Taemin, so I watched their Hello baby and saw Eunhyuk, I think I became curious about SJ then. Fell in love with KRY performances and it has been like that for last 10 years.

I really love their character, lore and worldbuilding.

Never played much the game tbh because my laptop sucks, but I do played their mobile version.

SNSD was how I got into Kpop (early 2010) and aespa is the reason why I’m still in it. Might be the last group I stan before going full casual but yeah, I still do check up on Soshi members from time to time.

KARA's 'Step' really started the journey for me because I was curious as to what other Korean music there was other than 'Gangnam Style' and I found them then 4Minute, 2NE1, SNSD, T-Ara, etc. and the rest is history. I still really enjoy KARA but they were never one of my top groups when I was younger although I think I love their music even more now.

my bias group is shinee.

well my online friend got me into K-pop back in Nov 2016. she introduced me to a group called Girls Generation/SNSD.

I still stan them lol, It's just that I got introduced to SNSD so late in their careers

So my first groups were EXO, BTS, BigBang, BAP & ikon from 2017 - 2019.

Around these times I fell for groups like 1TEAM, UNB, BLACK6IX until they disbanded.

I stopped being a die hard fan for EXO & BTS in the second half of 2018, so probably around 2019 ish.

I think my music taste hasn't changed a lot, but I do lean towards different groups now, and I wasn't as much as a die hard fan as I once was. Now, I only follow the groups where I know all the members and like more then a handful of songs. I also only follows idols on vlive and YouTube.

I also don't watch every idols/ groups content like I once did, I don't comment on every single post or YT Video either anymore.

If we're being technical, BTS was the first kpop group I knew, but I didn't actually start getting into kpop until Blackpink.

I was Rock and Metal fan only, so I never listened to K-Pop before. But Dreamcatcher got me. The first K-Pop albums in my collection (I bought them together) was 'Apocalypse: Save Us' and 'INVU' by Taeyeon.
