How is it that not one 4th gen bg sales are not resulting in 1 hit song in South Korea? At least compared to 3rd gen bgs?

I've been noticing it too lmfao. I don't even know if there's been a massive 4th gen bg hit internationally this year so I don't know why they would suddenly be the next BTS....

And who knows, maybe girl groups will start selling as much as bgs next year and what will the boy groups have then?

There's no direct correlation between sales coming mostly from other countries other than Korea and a domestic hit. I thought It was obvious, cause otherwise iKON, Winner, B.A.P, BTOB and Block B would have explosive sales.

Stray Kids 2.1m first week sales

Enhypen 1.24m first week sales

but

their concerts were

smaller than that of

Lee Jieun, max sales around 400,000

Which shows that a lot of the sales are not from those who will actually listen to the albums.

Their concert venues should have been larger so the low-selling Senior Singer should have been kept out of the Olympic Stadium, but instead the Senior Singer held the field on that particular week when SKZ and Enhypen had concerts

BG just have a bad brand image that pushes the gp away. It's not a music issue, it's an image issue. BIGBANG and BTS have a better brand image that's why they are doing better than the others BG. Most BGs are too focused on their fandom, I've listened to a lot of BGs this year and their music is just as good as GGs but the difference really comes from their brand image.

I noticed that once X1 was forcefully disbanded, 4th gen boy groups have been in the trenches digitally. Koreans literally don't give a fuck even if the song is inoffensive pop music (ex. Treasure's Hello/My Treasure, CIX's Cinema/Wave, ATEEZ's Wave, TXT's Blue Hour/Lovesong/Loser=Lover, Oneus's Black Mirror/Luna).

you're basically comparing 2-4 year groups who just started their tours after covid with an artist who has been active over a decade. Not to mention both skz and enha's album sales come from international fans mostly.

It is true that their companies had been a bit conservative on estimating concert attendee numbers.

Still if they could raise 100,000 fans in Korea, they would have had stadium concerts.

the NCTs had concerts with 25,000 capacities in the main stadium (50,000 total each). That would have been doable.

Maybe their sales aren't coming from South Korea

Left & Right, Rock with You, World and HOT all peaked in the top 10 of the Gaon digital chart, but their weekly ranks on other charts like Melon and Genie were in the 20s at best I believe.

i 100% believe txt would have multiple hits under their belt if it wasn't for digital chart metrics changing so much. blue hour and love song would have hit so big if they were released in 3rd gen. 24 hr hits started when they were at a very important moment in their career and whatever gp perks they could have gotten at that time from being in melon top 100 were stolen from them. i still think they are on the brink of break though. yeonjun and soobin have been generally recognizable for a while now. they honestly just need more gigs.

it's too predictable to say, but they are at least one step away from being horrible to decent on korean charts. Good boy gone bad peaking at 101 on daily chart was really frustrating

I mean its because bulk buying can’t fabricate human streams anymore so no matter how dedicate your fanbase is to giving you money, they need to be large in quantity, not “quality”
