Ah, I just pulled up the Melon Top100, and looking through it, I'd say that NewJeans and Le Sserafim are the most notable examples. Nothing they've released so far has really spoken to me.

The #1 song, Nxde, also doesn't do much for me, though I did enjoy Tomboy. And even with IVE, even though I quite like After Like, I also quite dislike Eleven. Now that I think about it, it's actually somewhat difficult to find a song that I really vibe with!

On the other hand take it is my least favourite ive song while i like all their other songs ghkljgjk man our tastes are so wildly different

and one has to always remember that sometimes it's not always about the music per se...

lots of people like groups for maybe different reasons notwithstanding the music

maybe they are success stans/company stans/visuals stans/former izone stans/akgaes/etc etc

I like most of their music - I like the members they seem like nice people, I liked wy and yj from pd48 and izone

it's completely ok if that's not your thing - you mentioned nj and lsfm so maybe those groups are more to your taste...

Stayc > Ive > Le Sserafim > NewJeans

Roughly in the order of the most replayable to the strangest IMO

Edit: Also the most to the least visually colorful which is my personal preference

Since NMIXX - Dice and Nayeon - Pop! are also on the chart, I'd put them between Ive and LSF

we love some Stayc enthusiast. This is basically my ranking I prefer IVE over LSRF but LSRF music is better in my opinion.

I don't like them or understand the hype though, their songs are so lowkey and it's not like you would find it outstanding from it the first time or even the second time. To me it's kind of just like Fearless by LSF, which was a lowkey song and had everyone find it just all right even though they're also a HYBE GG debut which was very hyped. But I don't understand why Attention and Hype Boy have blown up so hard when they're similar types of songs as Fearless (or even Blue Flame was acknowledged by a lot of people, but I don't think it's a song that's everywhere like NJs songs)

I mean really though! all these ggs are really popular and beautiful but music wise where is the creativity? their attribution to their music production?

Compare them to the solo k-artists around, now they deserve recognition.

I like them for their title tracks, I tried to watch their Weekly Idol but didn't like the group's dynamic or maybe that ep was not good as it was my first time watching them.

Also, I feel the same about some other groups as well

The only gg I see the hype for is for lessfirm something. Chaewon and Yunjin are aces to look out for. And might actually make me considering stanning a gg group in more than 12 years. To each their own but with Chaewon, Yunjin and Kazuha, all hype is deserved for the other team.

I'm not into their music, but I think I get the hype. They make easily digestible catchy pop music for a big portion of K-pop stans, they are pretty and elegant too. Maybe some people just want a simple good song to dance, without too much behind lol
