Are there (honest, non trollish) opinions you are afraid to share here?

Yes, there are. I do it because I know it's a sensitive topic and I don't exactly get joy out of making other people upset. Also because I said my opinions on it before and be metaphorically beating a dead horse. I will definitely get bashed by certain fandoms, but not by my friends, so I'd survive I guess. Plus, I'm not sure if anyone would actually listen and care to understand it, as opposed to skimming a sentence or two and then immediately forming a judgement on me and blowing up at me.

I tend to hold back if i feel like it will offend someone or if i think it will cause a ruckus.
I also won't say anything if I disagree in an appreciation thread, coz I think it's rude and petty to dump on people enjoyment.
Part of me feels like i shouldn't say negative things coz i am in a guild and people will blame my entire fandom for bad things that i say.

yep

yes lol but i share for the most part

idk im pretty straightfoward in general
how about this : I genuinely dont think any of BP can sing outside Rose ( by my standards which requires a high paid professional to be really good at their job, not just ok )
and I dont think Irene is good enough as a dancer to justify her being in the group, aside from her looks, no matter what her fans say to make themselves look less shallow
and chaeyoung is a better singer than more than half of twice, and thats not a good thing
there, against the most popular groups
surely this is what you want

i'm pretty forthcoming but some things i think can be mean spirited and they're better kept as inside thoughts
-

Yeah there are
Some are opinions that are just not worth sharing, because they are quite negative and theres nothing positive or worthwhile about sharing them (eg some views on physical appearances of idols, which some may take as trollish)
Others are just opinions about certain parts of the industry that I know many will disagree with and seem cruel or overly mean. I mentioned one once and realised most people here really disagreed. So eh.
For all the trolling here, this place is still pretty chill and fun for me, so I don't wanna be that asshole.

if they arent though then thats a different story

yeah depends on my mood and the users present in the thread

no i'm 100% real and doesn't give a f*** of what people say or look for validation of other users here
if i want to say something i say it, i don't care if people are happy or mad about it
i don't consider this forum as a place to make friends or something else
i sign up to talk about kpop and kpop groups positively or negatively
and i'll never understand people on this forum who prefer to keep their opinion for themselves just because they are looking for validation and love of other user here

Not scared but I'm not a fan of people mass quoting me so for that reason I just keep it to myself. I think its important to have a healthy filter because some stuff really shouldn't be said.

I live by the motto, "Pick your battles." There's nothing I am afraid to say. Afraid is the wrong word for it. There are things I choose not to say since I also choose not to waste my time on certain things I deem futile. I get to choose what I want to spend my time on . My time is a valuable commodity and I never go into things to half-ass them. If it's worth it, you can bet your bottom dollar I'll say it and I'll go all in.
-
I’m not really ever afraid lol. But I notice that any comment that can be perceived with a negative connotation even if not meant in that way, outweighs anything positive said about the same group. Some users love to jump on you out of ignorance or assumption, so I stopped bothering to even contribute positively to some threads/groups, ect. And likewise with any opinions deemed controversial unless it’s something I really feel needs to be said. Some things just aren’t worth bickering over.

I get that. Sometimes it's just not worth wading in and it's better to just channel Hyungwon

Well I understand those sentiments. I did ask midzy guild if I should leave since I was entering troll era, they (being cool as hell) said they dont give a shit what anyone says. So I think when it comes to guilds, ask.
As for the other things, yes you're right. Sometimes it's simply rude to say something in an appreciation thread. Which is why you can make your own thread! It will still make people mad. But you wont be a huge asshole
"Entering troll era" bwahaha
And yeah, I wish people would jay make their own threads and leave appreciation ones alone. It's so unnecessary spread negativity there.

I do hate it when users jump to snap judgments about the opinion or the motivation of the user without trying to understand all the nuance. Also, people should be allowed to have opinions. I don't think people should be rude and hateful, but honesty, respectful opinions!

yep
Cuz you think people will get mad and maybe gang up on you?
