An indepth look into the secrets and Easter eggs of RV's 'Feel My Rhythm'

  • It was actually a comment and a tweet reference to Hieronymus Bosch by another poster that got me intrigued, that got me looking into it further.

This is what I've found so far in references and symbolisms:

    - The ending scene with Seulgi in some construction/building comes from Hieronymus Bosch' 'Garden of Earthly Delights' threeparter painting, namely the left pane depicting Adam & Eve in Eden:

    - The full Bosch' painting is here (left pane is Eden, middle represents the Garden of Earthly Delights and the right pane Hell)

SPECULATION: does this mean that 'Feel My Rhythm' is the first of a trilogy comebacks, seeing how the MV ends with a scene similar to the left pane building, and how Joy talked about multiple RV comebacks this year?

For those looking closer into the MV, there are more Bosch painting references to be found, see the thread from the tweet above 8)

    - The hands movement with which Irene starts and that the other members use too represents the flapping of wings. Also it looks like RV members are represented by birds, seeing how Seulgi transforms from a bird to herself at the end?

    - Paintings is 1 of the main themes of this 'Feel My Rhythm' MV next to the Hieronymus Bosch arc: the MV starts with the members alive in painter settings, and several scenes are enactments of existing paintings, like here

    - some scenes, like the glittering ship, the large tulip that closes around an RV member, not sure if they're only references to Bosch' imagery or also references to fairy tales. Seulgi seems to be the Maleficent or sortlike character in this MV?

Any more references, secrets and Easter Eggs people have discovered? If so, post it here :-)

  • oooh this is really neat. I was thinking Seulgi was a reference to Swan Lake and was wondering if the other sets were possibly references to other ballets, but I'm not familiar with any other ballets to know if they are. :pepe-cringe:

My theory for a while has been that this could be the start of another trilogy. :pepe-excited:

  • Another informative, handy tweet I found that lists a lot of the art references

Additionally, someone summed up a number (not all) of the references in the MV:

    1. Joy lying on water (Ophelia - John Everett Milley)

    2. Irene swing ("The Swing" - Fragonard)

    3. Irene with umbrella with Seulgi ("The Woman Holding the Umbrella" - Monet)

    4. Yeri Hair Style with strawberry ("Four Seasons" - Mucha)

    5. At the End of the MV is the fountain frome from the painting of Hieronymus Bosch , it can be found in The Garden of Earthly Delights

    6. Seulgi standing on the ladder (paul dominique - lady looking behind the wall)

    7. Wendy & Yeri looking at Joy in the water (paul dominique - Nymphs Finding the Head of Orpheus)

Hieronymus Bosch painting is all related to this Feel My Rhythm MV including the RedVelvet all sitting inside of room with a table (actually is a monster)(Climbing the Ladder: On Hieronymus Bosch's Vision of Hell)

This is a Triptych - a single narrative artwork split into 3 panels. the castle at the end of the MV is in the first panel.

    :lover3:

  • I've encountered several more likely references :-) namely the following

    The ballerinas by Degas

The Birth of Venus by Botticelli

    FMR-Venus---Botticelli-ref.jpg

Spring (fitting! And probably on purpose) by Botticelli

Here's a tweet where someone put a lot of them in a video clip

Also, someone mentioned that the glass building in the MV resembled the Grand Palais in France?

Joy also mentioned that Red Velvet would have many other comebacks this year and that she and the other members would love Red Velvet to be 'queens of all seasons' , not just Summer Queens.

So, we can expect a Red Velvet comeback every few months this year, I guess? :wow::lovec::froghype:

  • This is amazing :whatk: :whatk: :whatk:thanks for sharing all this! <3 I also think we’ll get another comeback in the summer and fall/winter.

  • So in short, Red Velvet's Feel The Rythm = Art.

Ok, so why am I not surprised?
