is kpop more boring overall because of the lack of direct competition between groups?

For success stan who get a rush and sense of accomplishment from those rivalry for sure

Hard to get that dopamine rush if you cant fight off people over someone else's career

For the rest of us simple folk who just like the joy of listening to sth we like NO

4th gen fanwar in akp is festive enough imo

It’s currently boring for me cos my fav have not had a cb although not so much since they are quite eventful and I’m looking forward to their upcoming concerts

I think its because of how unbalanced a lot of groups popularity is, like aespa is so far ahead of other 4th gen girl groups it's hard to say what their competition is (some might say itzy but I'd say their competition is going to be nmixx after JYP changes their concept and gives them a better comeback) for others like Stayc or G-idle they are both on different levels, Idle is more popular than Stayc so they really cant compete. And for boy groups it's the same, Stray Kids are leading 4th gen boy groups, whilst NCT and Ateez are right behind, and then there's enhypen and TXT, enhypen is more popular than TXT so they can't compete, it's just a lot of unbalanced stuff. 4th gen just feels like everybody is solo riding without competition which is kind of a good thing, I don't think it makes anything boring to be honest.

competition isn't exciting for me good music is but what is more boring is the fact that my favorite group hasn't had a comeback in 2 years.

the biggest groups are all in music hiatus maybe that's why, i remember how high the engagement here was around april 2019.

It only gets boring when the same group dominates and no other group gets a look in. It's unfair and takes the enjoyment out of it. I can name at least one group that has applied to but isn't a problem right at the moment. It detracts from the fun at least for me.

I have been a fan for 11 years darlin' and I am after a bit of healthy competition which I feel is not there anymore. Between the fandom, Shawols do have alot of interesting discussions to analyze and compare, even between the members solo. We just keep is exclusive to ourselves because at the end of the day we are trying to enjoy sth and other people suck the fun out of it with nonsense hate.

TXT and Enhyphen is mixed in there as well.

It's probably less obvious since the overall topic group is so obvious that the fight is not about the Kpop number 1, but that of next gen.

BTS hasn't brought out an album in quite a while, so there was plenty of chance for others to step in, but they didn't really.
