is this a clap back for what happened with Gaon in 2017?
-
-
There was more to the Gaon incident than just the No Signal picture, so I think it would be a pretty obtuse move from them if this was a clap back.
Which I don’t think it was and y’all should better not push that narrative either. Was probably just a coincidence cause this is often used.
The MADE Tour producer and VIP’s were right to call out the similarities of the stage (not just the No Signal sign, but also how the members were presented afterwards.. hasn’t exited anywhere else before that).
Gaon admitted their mistake that the stages did indeed looked very similar and that they didn’t checked the resources, but it had no BTS involvement , in fact they didn’t even showed them the stage video beforehand. BTS got accused of plagiarism, because Gaon did plagiarism for their stage without them knowing it ( T.O.P for whatever reason got a copyright to that stage direction lol)… But Gaon left everything burn down until they finally thought it would be necessary to clear up the situation that it was completely their fault and not BTS.
So if they would be using this
No Signal picture as a clap back, it would be a clap back to those who called it out not Gaon, even though the ones who called it out were in the right to do so… but they blame the wrong people at first because Gaon took to long to explain the situation and BTS members attended this specific BigBang concert so without further explanation, this was the conclusion they came up with.

BTS got all the blame from the directors, the family members, fans of the group, GAON is a snake for letting ppl think that for that long.

Well it was kinda extreme for VIPs and most crazy the family of Bigbang to call out a rookie group for something petty as that. If it’s plagiarism of a song I would understand but a stage? What were they thinking?
-
I don’t think the director or family members were blaming BTS or intended to so… cause the director just posted a screenshot of a Gaon stage and the BigBang stage with the caption “ My hard work”, which was liked by some of the Group’s family members (that’s all they did, they didn’t said or posted anything) only those who watched the Gaon Awards noticed it was the BTS stage, cause she didn’t mentioned who’s Gaon stage it was in her tweet.
Looking at it from hindsight… Armys and VIP’s jumped into conclusions because they just wanted to protect their faves and sometimes went to far…. Gaon could have prevented this whole mess by putting out a statement the moment they saw the first article… snakes indeed!!
-
The Stage direction on BB concert was copyrighted so the stage producer had all rights to call it out… blame those really at fault and this was Gaon!!
The family members just liked the post of the concert producer who pointed out the issue cause it was her work and it just got copy pasted without her notice. They didn’t call out anybody.
Also BTS wasn’t a rookie they were almost 4 years into their career, not that it changes the fact that they got falsely blamed.

lmaooo and who got the scorn of those posts? armys jumped into what conclusion?

They thought the family members and the producer were intentionally trying to sabotage BTS so they attacked them too which wasn’t right either.
lol okay.

lol, those family members knew exactly what they were doing. Everyone and their mama at the time knew bts (the group, the members) were getting the full blame for it, no matter their involvement, and they still felt the need to add to that.
First time i saw (staff members and) family members of a huge artist being this petty.
just wanted to say that when i saw your paragraph.
No idea if it was a clap back or not (since the image is that basic), but BTS not having returned to the Gaon award show since that false accusation says a lot. They are very reasonable people, but they took that incident very serious, so who knows? However, the concert was amazing & the boys were having a blast. thats all that matters :joy:

I think this is the heart of the Army/VIP and YG/Hybe rivalry. All the bad blood appears to start from right here, ground zero. Before this, BTS were avid fans of BB and other YG hiphop music acts like 1Tym and Epik which eventually signed with YG.
Now, with BTS usurping BB's status as "It Boys" of Korea and getting revenge for this incident, the groundwork has been laid for a bitter rivalry. I think finding a true multistan who loves BTS and BB is 100x harder than finding an ArmyBlink or OnceBlink or even ExoArmy.

Eager to read an expanded version of this on your Wattpad.

What are you talking about? They liked the post of the concert producer right after she posted it, this was before the the drama took off and people started to blame BTS… I was there when all this went down… it was first something a few people talked about.. then it got more attention and was blown out of proportion.
You call it petty, for that concert producer it was annoying to see, if it was nothing Gaon wouldn’t have apologized for causing trouble…
You are seeing it way to much of the perspective of a fan.
BTS just had a concert, let’s say there was one stage direction that stood out… now there is a MAMA stage where another Group had a stage very similar to the stage setting BTS had in their concert and their producer tweets about her hard work being copy pasted and let’s say J-Hopes sister sees it and likes the post…. Would you say that she was petty for doing so ?
Would you say she new exactly what she was doing and that was to bring down this Group?
Some of you act as if they had no right to be mad in the first place… I guess because you like it if someone just takes your ideas and sell it as their own.
Again anger directed at the wrong people… I sometimes think even intentionally.

VIP were always super loud to say that BTS was copying them. Not just this incident. They literally laughed at them and called them “nugu”. I have never heard the phrase nugu before BTS.
YG fucked their image up with all their drug scandals and burning sun. It’s not like Hybe had to do anything. Also the whole mediaplay by known YG favourite journalists was embarrassing. So what rivalry? BTS never beefed with Big Bang/YG. They were always the loud ones. Screaming against a wall

They either know what they doing or they didn't care about the result of their actions.
Either way they dropped the ball, got mad at the wrong people, get the wrong people in heated water, when all they had to do was pick up the phone and get this sorted out privately.
Are you telling me this producer who has been working in the industry doesn't know how it work? They don't know if award shows prepare these things or the artist side? They don't know how to pick up a phone? Speak in Korean? Korea celebrity culture is different. They don't make things ugly in public unless necessary or if they don't care. Their behaviors show they give no shit about anyone else and make an ugly mess before finding out why. Gaon dropped the ball here but these people didn't act with the best intend either - freaking adult professional who can't act like proper adults and get rookie/ younger groups in troubles just because they can. This was the point you were missing.
They can get mad, but the point was they got even at the wrong person and then act like they were justified to start this whole mess in the first place. No accountability, no remorse.

I like to think it was a clapback simply because I'm petty (and I do suspect on the BB side they knew what the effect of their words would be and BTS would get the blowback because they seem to be even more petty than I). However it's hard to say because no signal is a basic image and from the livestream they were using glitch graphics throughout a lot of the show.
-
-
Nah I think they knew. BTS production team are very meticulous people. For an incident that got bts to avoid an award show since, they remember everything.
If common armys seeing this screen brought back these memories, do you think BTS and their production team won’t be aware at all of the resemblance to that scene??? That’s just not plausible at all
Still they still decided to use it in the end. Either it was “fck it, it’s just a common no signal screen that people got heated up for” or “fck gaon and all the people that hated on them. This is a clap back”
-
-
-
It's not a clapback to anything. They just used a no signal screen like they have in the past. It's like the ARMY cult on here is too caught up on REVENGE and PAYBACK (karma is an ARMY type stuff) against people who wronged them in, like, 2017, than actually stanning their faves. And it's always the same people on these threads!
People getting mad at BTS over something as simple as a common screen was ridiculous, though. Fandom drama, always 100% logical especially when someone wants to put down another group (in that case, BTS).

lol she is not a public person nor influential, she is just a tour director nobody knew her, this was her private Account, she probably didn’t knew it would blow up like that. If it was YG‘s official account who did it I will be like ok, y’all definitely got the contacts to address this privately… but a private person? And fans were already pointing it out, so not a private issue anyway.
Again in her tweet there was no mention of BTS nor where that stage is from, just a screenshot of the BB stage and the Gaon Stage without BTS Name nor Gaon Name…. The ones who noticed that it was BTS opening of their Gaon stage where the ones who watched Gaon. It was more likely directed towards Gaon and not BTS (hence why she didn’t mentioned their name nor label)
It makes more sense to blame fans who jumped into conclusions than being mad at the producer and family members, cause at the end of the day they were victims too by Gaons mistake. It was the fan fights that brought more attention to the case. Some of these big organizations only respond after making things public…
And look how long it took Gaon to respond even though the pot was hot… you think they would have replied to a call or e-mail from a concert director? You are very optimistic.
-

This is where I disagree with you. No, I do not put all the blame on them. Gaon is at fault - everyone can agree on that.
However, if there is any blame left to put, I would put the blame more on the director and family members than the fans. They the one that lit the spark, that fans use to fan the flame. Anonymous fans throw around plagiarism accusations ALL THE TIME. For freaking smallish thing like hair color, a shirt or whatever. Does anybody care? No
The incident got so much worse was because an "insider" aka the producer, made a public announcement/attack. This give fans (that people would not give a crap about otherwise) the legitimacy to drum up the accusations. So they were not seen as defensive fans, but just justice warriors who was helping out the director who got her work stolen. The family members join in was like another kick of dirt into the grave. Now it become even more "personal".
The director and family members did not act professionally. They almost screwed up a group, that had they not had the fandom or the luck, would have perished under that attack. Imagine BigBang status at the time, and the ugly year that BTS have had that was FULL of nonsensical plagiarism accusation.
This last accusation she did was almost the nail in the coffin for BTS had they were a bit less popular. All for what? A freaking NO-SIGNAL image?
It was ugly and vindictive, whether intentionally or not. I empathize with the director when she thought her work was supposedly stolen. But I do not agree that vindicated her action that almost could have screwed up an "innocent" group of people. Had she attacked the right people I would have supported her.

i said it already, i just wanted to give my comment in this situation.
discussing it is pretty useless too since most of the people here already have their own opinion about it.
@mashimaroluff0 explaination is exactly what i think about it.
and yes, if jhope's sister, for example, immaturely involved herself in something as unoriginal as a 'no signal' sign to drag/shame a small(er) group, i would find it petty too.

It wasn’t just a “No Signal” sign, it was also what fallowed, TOP has a freaking copy right for that stage direction… I don’t get why it’s not getting in anyones head. Y’all try to make her look crazy for posting something because just “No Signal” … again Gaon admit they messed up and they apologized for not checking their sources and causing trouble. And some of you are still saying it was nothing.
She wouldn’t have made that post, and the family members wouldn’t have liked it, if again Gaon did a better job.
Yeah fans make up nonsense all the time but this time it wasn’t.
Fans went to overboard with their accusations and that one I agree, but I wouldn’t blame the producer or family members cause they were obviously calling out Gaon not BTS (otherwise she would have mentioned their name or the label) …

Yes obv calling out Gaon, that’s why magically all the hate was to BTS

they called out gaon okay but who got the most hate and blame was BTS because of it, that's the issue we have with the commentary, basically threw gasoline at the bonfire.
-
It’s not her fault that it was BTS stage where Gaon decided to do this.
Not a justification, but BTS were at that specific BB anniversary concert… that’s why I said fans just jumped into conclusions and thought it was BTS idea, that’s why they came after them. That’s why Gaon should have cleared up the situation much faster.

yup, that's the thing... BTS were fans (dunno about avid) of Big Bang (and Epik High) and then they did that to BTS.

and BTS never mentioned or fanboyed about BB anymore after this incident.

Please stop trying to justify what they did. Cos you are. What they did was horrible. That’s it.
-
I was explaining the situation not justifying it. There is a difference. lol
And I stand by what I say, the producer had the right to call Gaon out… it was not right for fans to jump into conclusions and go after BTS… take it as you want, people who experienced the situation will have a different perspective on it.
The only thing I agree with is that Gaon was at fault and BTS didn’t deserve the attacks… nor the producer (who’s account was hacked several times and than deleted) or the family members .

Sure try to spot the difference. Interesting how producer called out gaon but gaon was unaffected. All events are very interesting. Innocent people.
