There is a huge. MASSIVE gap between twice and the rest of kpop. They are a solid #3 with no one close to them.
Twice outsold oppars any day of the week.
Their consistent dominance in spotify and YouTube is not something you can just brush aside.
I feel like we don’t talk about how big twice are internationally. Which is a shame.
And I feel twice’s success is more impactful for kpop simply because twice are so quintessentially kpop. They can do the cutesy they’re a big group they don’t have all their songs with catchy English verses. Yeah they changed up their sound to be more mature but they still sound very kpop even till this day.
For me out of all group’s international success Twice’s success is the biggest win for ‘kpop’ as a community. They represent everything that kpop is and always was.
And I don’t say all of this as a fan. But just as someone who observes kpop. I know prolly like less than 5 twice songs properly. But you just can’t deny impact.
