...Is a sentiment I'm seeing echoed quite a bit on Twitter and reddit these days. Often they are being called the new Blinks. I personally do not think they are anymore toxic than other fandoms. Some are going a bit hard on Illit but you see that in any other fandom, so it doesn't mean much to me. What does AKP think about this? Are MYs the new Blinks?

Out of all the 4th-gen girl groups, their Kfandom has been the most hated for being so problematic from the beginning, and now, on the international side, Armys are token-stanning them so hard. It’s honestly the worst combination in the long run

It comes with territory when a group becomes popular . It happened with Idle where a few Nevies became toxic due to group reaching new heights. I don't think the loud minority represent a fandom. From what I've seen MYs aren't any more toxic than other popular groups. I think the Hybe leak about crushing Aespa is why some are toxic towards Hybe groups.

Because they’re the current rising stars, all popular girl groups get this kind of treatment—no one escapes it. Thankfully, threads about Illit aren’t that frequent here. You can check the threads from 2021-2023; the competition and doom posts about 4th-gen girl groups were even more intense back then, especially when anons were still around. Some users even constantly called Nj Pedojeans to mock them, that’s how bad it was. Ive was constantly labeled as 'Wonyoung and friends,' and being looking down a lot just because they're not from the big 4, while Aespa and Itzy got hit with thread after thread about them being flopping. Don’t even get me started on Nmixx and how badly people treated them here when they debuted—it was a disaster. And Lsf had the whole Garam controversy back then where it was used to hate on the group. So, if the group is popular, you can only expect the not nice treatment here.

im not usually on my twt (as in aespa's fandom "my" not as in the twitter account I own) so I can't gauge just how toxic they are, but from what Ive seen the good majority of them are pretty normal, just like any other fandom I guess? maybe mys are just more "vocal" when being toxic?
after spending time lurking on all sorts of kpop forums I guess I'm under the impression that they're toxic because that's what a lot of people are saying but ill have to investigate for myself first

The toxicity of one fandom is the response to the toxicity of another fandom etc... And it's a never ending fanwar
It'll depend on what time lapse do you compare , if you were a kpop fans at this time etc...
As far as i remember the moment MYs have been call toxic is the moment they have started to go after Midzy
And this was after Midzy jump on the pre-debut hate train of aespa and start to spread the fake rumor about them to portray a negative image of the members before they even debut
So if you were a kpop fans at this time you would understand
If you are a recent kpop fans you would see MY as the toxic fandom cuz now MY are more vocal cuz they can back up the claim
So i think it's dumb to consider a fandom as more toxic than the other one
Cuz it's constantly changing depending on the situation and the time lapse

So as a my I will say that Aespa has a toxic fandom just like other 4th gen girl groups!
IMO I think 4th gen gg fandoms are more toxic than bg fandoms!

3. the silent majority is often drowned out by the vocal minority
4. the most toxic fans always create more drama and news - the "good" fan who buys a couple of albums and streams their favs songs in the peace and quite of their home barely get noticed compared to a sasaeng or hater.

Some Mys are toxic, but I don' think as a percentage it's more or less than any other fandom. Aespa have a big core fandom, maybe Top 3 or 4 for girl groups so it kind of makes sense there may seem to be more toxicity.
For context as well, Aespa has been dragged by certain fandoms at least up until Spicy, where there was a bit of a change in reception to them. After that it's been other fandoms for various reasons.
Since the Hybe/Ador war started and Bang made his comments, I think many Mys have just decided to fight fire with fire.

I almost forget but ythey used to be very toxic like many 4th gen fandoms that get very popular. I don't think they are as toxic but I haven't been that updated with kpop that much lately. but I doubt they are more toxic that tokkies
Interesting, I've never viewed the tokkis as toxic, just some bad actors like any other of the fandoms. Maybe more so later, but that is due to what the user below says, they are being made toxic by other fandoms.

And as you said, there is no such thing as a "most toxic fandom", only 1 that may appear to be the most toxic at any given point in time. Right now it's MYs, tomorrow it could be someone else.

Literally it's a never ending cycle
A fandom isn't toxic at day 1
Midzy become toxic when they started to respond to blink who were trying to picture itzy as JYP version of BP and trying to get credit for bp for the success of dalla dalla
Mys become toxic after the whole hate train that midzy gave to aespa cuz they saw them as direct competition and blinks being blinks and attacking every girl crush for being a rip off of bp
Fearnots have become toxic cuz of the whole trolling other 4th gen gg did to lesserafim after coachella and encore stage
Like it's a never ending saga of fandom making another fandom toxic and then playing the victim when the new fandom start to answer back with the same energy these fandoms gave them

Cuz it's funny how some people say My is toxic since 2021
Weirdly enough 2021 is the year Next level happen after 2020 being a sh** show for aespa and aespa hate train
And people saying they calm down in 2023 which is the year where aespa got tons of hate for being a non top group and being on their downfall era
And now suddenly ppl saying My are again toxic in 2024
Just confirm my theory that fandom are toxic as an answer to the toxicity of other fandom
And these other fandom just can't accept that other fandom answer back with the same energy they gave them
