I'm a female Twice fan, but all the male onces i've met have always been really chill with maybe a few exceptions here and there. It could just be the spaces I frequent though. I've seen equally (if not more) obsessive and toxic female bg stans
People mostly dislike them for the potential of becoming creepy towards them.
For a lot they still believe that male fans have ill intentions stanning GG’s, especially if they’re straight … and this is also a form or misogyny and misandry, but a lot are not ready for that conversation. .

One important point I failed to mention or make is that male fans make up such a disproportionately small portion of K-Pop fans that I find it hard to believe they can be the plague or pestilence people make them out to be.
They're a minority and I don't even think they're that vocal. Toxic male fans GENERALLY stay in their toxic echo chambers.
I always figured it's mostly because men are definitely the worst offenders when it comes to over sexualizing idols, and even minors aren't off limits for some of these pervy incels. I'm not actually sure if this is a problem for women BG stans, but men doing this isn't a problem in just the kpop world. From that perspective, I can understand why women might be apprehensive towards male fans.
But it is unfortunate to see female stans (although I don't see too many) generalizing all male GG stans and lumping us together with the shitty ones. Or acting as if kpop fandoms would just be flowers and sunshine if not for us awful toxic men coming in and ruining everything.
I am going to talk about my experience within the Kpop community online (three forums, X, Tik Tok and Instagram) so my opinion is only based on my thoughts.
For me, male stans are a mixed bag just like others Kpop fans. This said, male stans when they are toxic are usually worse than toxic female stans. They often make the worst trolls or haters and are relentless (it's the case here). The kind of hatred that they spread is also very particular, it's a visceral misogynistic hatred. For instance, the worst hate campaign that I have seen here was against Blackpink and it ended up with deep fake posts on the forum. I don't vibe with some female users here because they are too much for me but I don't see any of them doing that for obvious reasons.
The last most digusting take that I have read yesterday or today here ? Two male gg stans.
The banned user or troll standard profile on Allkpop ? A male stan.
Let's make a list about who is the biggest hater by group here and an obvious pattern will appear. It's often the same loosers who have been going for years and yes, most are them are male.
My experience online has been way more ruined by male stans than female stans who can indeed be very toxic and immature too. I have no problem to admit that.
Le Sserafim or Newjeans hate campaign have been pretty bad but it's not like male stans did not participate in particular for Le Sserafim. The Kpop stan who got that viral tweet for "joking" about hanging Newjeans was a man, if I remember well. Another example of a visceral reaction. Speaking about visceral and dangerous reactions, all these female idols who got called out for their "feminist" views got it pretty bad too and the dominant demography was not hard to determine. It's an example among many others.
I will make one concession though, i don't like the way male gg stans are presented as creepy because they stan a girl group when female stans got a pass including when they stan far younger groups than them. I actually think that you can stan younger groups than you without any ill intention whatever your gender is. I also despice the way girl groups who appeal to a male demography are mocked. It's gross and gives that "not like the others girls" energy.

When you inevitably grow older, but your love for K-Pop remains just as it was when you were younger, do you now have to arbitrarily abandon the hobby because all the newer groups will be considerably younger than you?
I don't like ageism any more than I like sexism.

Attraction of course plays a huge role in artists you like, especially in the K-Pop industry, which takes visuals very seriously.
As a young girl myself, I might sound stereotypical and ageist, but this is just the way I think. I have been in many situations with some older creeps, and thus I can't imagine that a man who literally goes to an idol groups concert not being attracted to them at all.

It's just young women who don't know any better being catty & misandrist for no reason. They think they can get away with it because there's been a social movement amongst young women recently that's made them think hating men is somehow not only socially acceptable, but even cool or cute. Mind you, these are often the performative activist types who will hypocritically expect you to care about all sorts of causes they personally care about while simultaneously demonizing an entire sex like it's no big deal. Remember when feminism used to stand for equality? They don't. They've instead grown up in an atmosphere where this toxic, fabricated superiority complex is all they know and they're more than happy to disseminate it.

Are there men who sexualize idols? Of course. There's a reason why a large portion of the Internet is dedicated to satisfying male sexual fantasy. Some men will even sexualize an inanimate object if you let them. But there are just as many, if not many more female Kpop fans who do the same. And I'm not just talking about the legions of thirsty female fans who obsess over their favorite boy bands (ie the target demographic), because that should go without saying, but also the suprisingly large number of lesbians whom I've personally witnessed thirsting over girl groups in such an aggressively explicit fashion that it would get any of their male fans ostracized immediately if they said the same disgusting things these women say regularly.
But they're convinced they can get away with this behavior simply because they're female, and truth be told, other female fans do in fact let them get away with it. They're completely blind to their own double standards, hence the sexist "men as predators" trope continues. And don't even get me started on the creepy, invasive misrepresentation of idols' sexual orientations, which is another common trend perpetuated mainly by the very same demographic.
Could this be down to culture? In Australia when I was in school, the group of boys I know who were kpop obsessed were neither gay nor simps, you would never guess considering they were the “cool kids” and at the same time the most diehard Once & Blinks (in a wholesome way ofc) Funny cos at that point I didn’t have a clue about 3rd gen so it was thanks to them that I learnt who is who in BP & Twice 😅

I don't really think it's wrong. As you said, women stans can be just as bad sometimes, but it's definitely men who always take that stuff up a notch. Literally if a woman exists (kpop or not), there will be a subreddit dedicated to over sexualizing them. Type in any girl group name on reddit, and you'll see an equivalent groupnameFap or groupnameNSFW subreddit, BP and Twice have over 50k members in theirs. Then we have kpopfap, which is the second largest kpop subreddit after r/kpop itself. Even despite our small demographic within this fandom, men still manage to be the ones doing the most sexualization lol, I think this speaks for itself. Granted, these subreddits could just be run by a bunch of thirsty lesbians for all I know

It's a stereotype to make those perpetuating it feel better about themselves. The truth is that there are shitty people that happen to be kpop stans at all ages, all sexualities, and of whatever gender you choose to generalize.
There are creepy uncle fans, but there are also grown women who will throw themselves all over barely legal (sometimes underage) boys. And there are LGBTQ fans who will do the same. I saw how some of Karina's "fans" tore her relationship apart online because they had this idea that she was their lesbian queen. I am gay, and I found that so odd and predatory that so-called fans would harass both the idol and their partner in the beginning stages.
Suffice it to say, as much as some of the most sensationalized stories about predatory fan behavior are focused on men, there is no shortage of moral depravity and sexual exploitation going on in all corners of the Kpop community.
Because they have different styles in getting their rocks off. A lot of men treat kpop like a glorified Maxim magazine and a lot of women treat kpop like a romance novel they have started to believe is real. The male fans may be creepy and disgusting with it, but then they "fap" and move on. While the fangirls, especially online, will be overly obsessive, possessive, create a lot of toxicity and drama for the pettiest of things and may sometimes go into sasaeng territory, which is very rare with male fans.
I think kpop fans are toxic, male or female.
We already know and there was already examples here about why male fans are seen as bad or weird, but I'll also add how toxic female fans can be like who do you think were/are NCT, Exo, BTS, BB, TVXQ, etc saesangs? 99% of the time they were female "fans" that invaded their privacy causing them stress and even mental issues like.. the list of wrong things can go on and on from like causing their male idols to break up from harassing the supposed girlfriends from blowing up issues etc, etc, etc.
But here in akp sure the male fans were bad like 90% of the worst trolls here were male and like you may be new here, but I'm not and they were pretty much fucked up, evil and overall bad so here in akp unfortunately we still remember them and some tend to generalize the male community... It's wrong, but it's the effect of years of trash behavior...
But in the end toxic people will be toxic regardless of their gender. And male or female, if they act crazy causing harm to idols then they are the scourge of kpop.

This is certainly true of Western female fans - who hope pretty Korean boys are docile and easier to manipulate.
But the craziest “stans” are undoubtedly female boy group fans. 90% of the weird, toxic nonsense comes from these types.
Nobody over the age of 13 should be “stanning” any musical artist. Even if you meet them in real life, they can’t come close to living up to your fantasy version of them. They are just people - and in the case of K-Pop artists, once the 35 pounds of stage makeup is scraped off you won’t even be able to recognize them.
Just enjoy K-Pop videos for their actual value - as one of the few remaining popular art forms that still shows us human beauty. The American entertainment world keeps force-feeding us new editions of Lizzo. 
Some people in comments generalising all kpop male fans as disgusting, misogynistic and all that stuff, but do they realise that 95%+ sasaengs are Women? Or all those fanfics written and drawn with their dirty fantasies are done mostly by Female fans? Or at airports and public places they will do anything to get near to their unnie or oppa? Or trash their imaginary husband or wife because of their relationship? Or tear apart their rival groups and fandoms no matter what? That's a result of toxic masculinity; men put that on themselves.
Secondly, there are men who are into K-pop only to lust and drool over these female idols. They have no real interest in the art itself. They might even look down on male idols and have toxic things to say.
There's a bunch of male GG stans who give the whole sector a bad name, let's be honest.

Of course, some people just want to feel like a superior K-pop fan who's "not like other K-pop fans," so they'll diss whoever's different from them in any way, whether that's fandom affiliation, age, gender, generation affiliation, or whatever else it may be. I appreciate that we have people like you, bro.
It's one thing to appreciate idols' beauty. That's perfectly fine.
It's outright inhumane to write disturbing, degrading fantasies about them. I've called it out myself when I've seen it, even getting banned from certain online spaces I stumbled upon.
If anything, man, K-pop inspired me to step up my game even more when it comes to style, taking care of myself, and becoming a better person.
It's all about respect at the end of the day. If they post "those angles" online, they're not even true fans because it's disrespectful to the idols. It's clear they only see the idols as objects, not human beings who deserve respect and protection.
If you have a great camera and will take flattering, respectful photos and videos of idols, by all means, go for it. I'm sure the idols and the fans would appreciate it.
