People haven't been talking about B1A4, TVXQ!, Wonder Girls, and other old K-Pop groups in this subforum lately.
Why don't people talk about old K-Pop groups in this subforum?

People don’t even talk that much about older releases of the active groups. Lol.
-
-
because they aren't doing anything worth talking about?

Listening to Winner, ikon and Bobby's solo stuff right now though, do they count as an older group? I also love UNB, Madtown, UNB, 1THE9, and other groups like that but they are disbanded, doing solo stuff and in military. (Seungsik + woodz are so no promotions to add to threads lol)
I also talked about big bang once!, I had their tour t shirt I found at a thrift store in 2015(?) - 2017, all I remember is that it was their MADE one. Don't have it anymore but it was kinda cool

B1A4 made a comeback this year with the release of their mini album CONNECT. I think comebacks are something worth talking about (correct me if I'm wrong)

Well they will get attention if they have some click bait title, otherwise no!
Well they should at least get recognition in their Home country, so good for them!

if I talk about Secret, the thread flops

Well, it's not really much to say about groups that are not active any more that have not been talking about many times before or groups that in general are "old" hand just doing their same thing they alwasy done but are barely active as for example Apink.
And as I have said many times before, a lot of kpop fans are only hardcore fans of kpop for a short time, then it dies down and they leave kpop or just are a more passive and causual fan of it. That means that the intrest around groups dies down after a couple of years because their fans get fewer and fewer, or at the fans loose intrest a bit.
People also move on even if they still are kpop fans. I had my favorites in groups like 2NE1 and T-ara, but when the groups disbands or getting less active you kind of start losing intrest and move on to other groups, even if my old favorites still is my nr 1.

I would have moved on from Kpop a long time ago except the factor that the singer I talk about all the time is still around after all these years.

What do you mean by that?

I'm a 2nd Gen Supremacist. I'd love to speak about them more. Most seem to want to talk about 4th gen and the big groups of third gen, which is fair since they are most relevant.
I looked at the streaming numbers thread yesterday, and I think there may be like 5 second gen songs doing any movement on Spotify over the past few years, so they aren't moving charts (getting mass streamed), so they're not oftne brought up.

That is the job of the elders, where are they?

All my threads about older groups do well. Watch and learn

For the same reason, Kpop fans only care about what's charting. Most older Kpop fans are under the radar, hardly using SNS, let alone a Forum. New Kpop fans only care about new groups.
It's not "Iconic", "Trendy" or whatever word kids using nowadays to describe that they're not flops.😅
On Twitter you can see my bio, filled with older and "nugu" groups, and I get dumbass comments about them on a daily basis, that I'm a grandpa who support flop grannies and grandpas.
So, yeah, this is the reason, basically.
-
I like some 2nd gen, but there isn't much to talk about unless there's a comeback or unless we're reminiscing about them.
Sometimes we'd see 2nd gen groups being mentioned, but that's usually in a discussion about charts, the main thing this forum talks about.

Aren't you forgetting one 2nd gen act, whose comeback still frighten the kid-fans -she keep upholding the 2nd gen supremacy and WhyKnock keeps her in discussions in AKP.
Her relevance is undiminished and often increases.

I'm new to the forum, so I've been trying to avoid figuring out who they're cryptically referring to since they seem to be baiting with each thread they make

IU.. they are a complicated fan.. most posts will appear to be shady/baiting of IU, yet it will also be about her undiminished significance in the industry.
So you should be confused if they are an anti or a fan.
That's their unique style.

I think forums are slow because lots of people lost interest in forums.

Sure, kind of true, but I just meant it never acctually was meant to be "fast", like a chat, twitter, TikTok or something like that. It's that they younger generation looks at forum like some kind of "fast" social media and think it's "slow".
